the second hazel gets bored with her apple

she leaves it on the floor

and resourceful, mobile olive

is happy to take care of it

at least she's a cute scrounge

some thoughts

money is on my mind
we had so much of it a week ago
and then i got a cat scan
and we bought a van
both good things..
but really took a chunk
now we need to be a lot more frugal
which hurts a little
our plan was to use some money
either for new furniture
or a little vacation this summer
but instead it went to the cat scan
oh well
health is very important, too

i love it when noah crosses his eyes
it's hilarious
also when he's getting dressed
and he wants to do it so fast
that he jumps into his shirt
that's funny too

hazel is kind of a maniac these days
she is so cute and sweet
but when she gets mad, we all suffer
poor girl, i'm sure it's hard being two

olive is so busy lately
i have to vacuum constantly
or she eats things that she shouldn't
she crawls all over the place and is starting
to pull herself up on to furniture
busy busy busy

michael is stressed out lately
and we're both busy
i'm excited for spring break
even if he works for part/all of it
at least he won't be stressed with homework
poor michael, husband, father of 3, student, working, and his calling?
so much on his plate

oh well
life is good
i wish things would warm up
and the snow would go away
but we're warm, healthy and happy

big news of the day

this morning hazel was quite crafty

with the bunk bed ladder

(why haven't we disassembled that thing?)

and got herself the peanut butter m&ms

but she couldn't get herself down

 then we hopped in the car to go to spokane

for stake temple day

and found ourselves a sweet van

after a very patient 

and not so patient

period of saving money

for a few months

 it's a 2006 Honda Odyssey

that we love

then we barely made it in time for our session

at the temple

phew

and ended the day with dinner at target (it sucked)

and a long separate drive home

since we had two cars to bring home

turns out driving together is WAY more fun

and now we're about to have second dinner

a little update

i started feeling better last night
and slept fine
(other than getting up with olive)
this morning i just have a dull pain
so i'm hoping if i take it easy it won't get worse again
i expected (from what the doctor said)
that i was going to be in terrible pain last night
and that things would get a bit worse
before they got better
but i do feel a lot better already
which makes me wonder if it was a kidney stone
or not
oh well
as long as i'm healthy, in minimal pain
and can take care of my kiddies, i'm happy

what's wrong with me?

this afternoon i felt a weird pain in my back/abdomen
on the right side
i disregarded it until michael came home
and i complained to him about it
he suggested i go to the doctor
and even scheduled me an appointment
i wasn't sure if i should go or not
because the pain was kind of off and on
but i went anyway
the doctor took my urine
and made sure i wasn't pregnant
but said i have blood in my urine
and thinks i have a kidney stone
but just to make sure
she sent me to the hospital to get an x-ray
and cat scan
she called me with the results
and said they couldn't see a kidney stone
i do have one vertebrae that is weird...
something might be going on with my lymph nodes..
it doesn't appear to be my appendix
but she is still guessing it's a kidney stone
that is either in my bladder already
or small and was missed on the cat scan
ho hum
the pain seems to be getting worse
so michael is filling my prescription
of pain medication
and buying me sickie treats
if the pain gets bad tonight i'm supposed to go to the ER
we'll see

hooray for hazel taking a nap!

lately hazel's napping is sporadic..

but today i gave her a treat and she slept

yay!!

so noah, olive and i got to play

so tonight noah and i were playing some

thomas uno

right before bed

olive is obsessed with the thomas uno cards

and tonight she would not stop trying to get them

no matter how far away i would move her

eventually she got up and actually crawled to them

i took a couple videos of her

i thought it was cute

and kind of funny

don't mind in the first video you can hear noah

telling us he had a poop accident...

or in the second video that i'm yelling at hazel to

stop attacking olive while she tries to crawl

oh and sorry our house is a little messy...

valentine's day recap

 my valentine

 michael thought to make the kids 

pink heart shaped pancakes

for breakfast

they loved it

 olive loved playing with the balloons

the kids are really in to forts lately

so i made their whole room one

we had a really fun valentine's day

we went out to teriyaki 

with our friends for dinner

and wandered the mall

we got mini ice cream cones

at mcdonalds on the way home

it was lots of fun

this morning the kids were disappointed

it was over

getting ready for tomorrow

we told the kids that tomorrow is valentines day

then we blew up balloons

made cookies

and now michael's hanging the streamers

we're very excited

golden girl

 she looks so old!

i've been sewing olive some shirts and dresses

using this pattern

from prudent baby

it's been so fun to use scraps of cute fabric

to make olive some clothes

this gold might be a little much but... oh well

noah and hazel's shared room

noah and hazel have been sharing a room for a while

but noah was in the bottom bunk

and hazel was in a crib next to them 

until a couple months ago

when she moved to the top bunk

but lately hazel was climbing down to play

so we decided we'd clear their toys out

and put their beds down side by side

i think it's adorable

 i haven't done much decorating

but my mom made their quilts when they were born

and i made the banners a while ago

so i tacked them up

as well as some vintage handkerchiefs i had

 here's hazel's bed fully embellished

 and noah's

and this is what they do

when they're supposed to be sleeping

but they aren't that tired

either way she's darn cute!

reasons michael is amazing

1. Last night Michael took both girls to the store to buy birthday cards for me while I did hair. He was being supportive of my goal and wanted to help. I was so touched!

2. This morning I woke up around 6:00am and ran 4.5 miles and then didn't eat for a few hours. Not great. I was unhappy and couldn't find anything to eat (we were out of milk). Michael made me eggs and got me out of the house and it totally helped.

3. He called and said he was on his way home, going to study from home and asked me out to lunch. So sweet.

4. Encouraged me to take a nap. Hazel napped with me. It was wonderful.

5. Michael always wants me to be happy. I am so blessed to have him. Right this second he's home from his Elders Quorum meeting after just an hour so he can watch The Office with me. What a doll!

noah has a canker sore in his mouth
that has been bothering him for a few days
so i finally asked to look at it
i've never seen such a big one
we have offered him some baby oragel
when it really hurts
now he asks for the oragel
though it sounds more like he wants "jail"
anyway
while i was looking at it
he said he got it
and it came from africa to pullman
in july
and it will stay a long time
poor boy
