we moved to idaho!

what a week!
actually it's only been a few days but it's been crazy
and busy and tiring
we made it to idaho! we love it here
but first i'll backtrack to how we got here
friday noah and hazel had their last days of school
here's a picture of noah's first (left) and last (right) days of school
noah didn't technically finish for another week but we pulled him out early so we could move
and hazel
who was officially done with kindergarten
i love how disheveled the kids look by the end of the year
i think we're all pretty ready for summer

we packed up our tiny house while the kids were at school
it was way too small for us and our landlord was kind of the worst
but we will miss this house
i was so glad natalie stopped by to say goodbye!!
i am going to miss her for sure!! (love you nat!)
michael's engineering friends came to help us move
it was so sweet of them and they did so much!
along with michael's dad and a guy from church
we stopped for slurpees one last time because they don't have 7eleven in idaho
and michael got us humongous cups
it was so big and so good
then we got the kids and hit the road
idaho!!! i can't believe we live here now
the kids did so well on the drive
hazel gets anxiety on long car rides which isn't fun
but luckily henry slept almost the whole time and didn't make a peep
such a blessing!
michael's parents helped us move and sent us out on a date
we finally got to see divergent (so good!)
 michael's grandma came, too
and it was so good to see her
the kids love her
i love this picture of her and olive
 hazel and grandpa
henry and his great grandma shirley
we are loving our new house! it's so big and awesome
the kids especially love our new tub in our room
eleanor snuck upstairs the other day and got undressed
and when michael walked in she was so proud of herself and all ready for a bath
silly girl
henry has his own room and started sleeping in his new crib yesterday
we live closer to target (hurray!)
and the kids had fun trying on hats the other day
today i stayed home with the little ones and michael took the big kids
to the sweet park near our house
they loved it!
there's a splash pad, fishing pond, playground, popsicles!
since henry has outgrown the cradle
it's been sitting in the garage
olive and eleanor love to play in it
they are so cute
we are really loving it so far
but moving is a lot of work!
i'm so glad we gave ourselves this week to get settled before michael starts work!

we're having lots of fun in seattle

i am so glad finals are over
not that i even took any
but it was stressful enough
i'm also glad the kids are traveling well
since we're visiting family
i had a slurpee yesterday
i went to the mall today
and target
we're pretty much done Christmas shopping
but mostly
i'm glad
that my inlaws are so awesome
and took our kids overnight

hazel learned how to plug her ears

noah and hazel "loving" their cousin halea

michael and noah on the tractor in the rain

noah riding bare back

oh and we made a few slurpee runs...
they were delicious

August 28, 2009

sure could use....

*a coke slurpee
*a quick trip to ikea for lampshades
*a target for no particular reason except i am getting really sick of walmart
*a visit from my family
*the ergobaby carrier we lost in seattle
*a real mall that doesn't include a joannes or winco
*more thrift stores
WSU, why do you have to be in the middle of nowhere?

a trip to the city

yesterday we went to spokane for our anniversary
it's an 80 minute drive each way
the kids did pretty well
notice hazel crying behind us

there are a lot of rolling hills the whole way there
michael wanted his picture with one
hazel wouldn't let up until i sat with her
so here i am scrunched in the back seat
while in spokane
we enjoyed the downtown shopping
and then headed to my beloved target
and then here for dinner

do you see the gigantic pop we got free with our combos
that was way more than enough celebratory dr. pepper for me

i just wish we had room for slurpees

what are you supposed to title rambling?

michael's at work
i'm waiting for kath and kim to start
when you're walkin' down the street and a man tries to get your business...
i hate that michael's at work
and that he had to get a job-period
is it good for him?
and us?
ummm debatable...but..yes
i think he's more on top of his schoolwork which is good
and i have time with the kids by myself
oh wait, i have that everyday
but i do get to put them to bed and have some time to myself
i think i'm more productive in the evenings while he's gone
if he's home then we just eat and play
but for instance tonight i finished all of the invites for my sister's baby shower
quite productive
and that was while the kids were awake
i know, impressive
ooh side note
i got my passport photo taken today
it wasn't a great photo..
i'm sure i'll hate these bangs being on my passport for 10 years
but michael assured me i'll love them forever
we may or may not spend my birthday in another country
yay
ok ok, back to michael being at work
its so awful-the thought of him being at a restaurant
waiting on people
i'm the one who waits on him
i cook for him and get him his food
what does it say if he's doing it for other people?
it's awful
i think he should quit
what do you mean it's only his second day?
what does that have to do with anything?
i know, i know
i'm ridiculous
i just miss him
and it's possible that i count on him to entertain me in the evenings
and maybe i shouldn't
and maybe i shouldn't count on him to
get me slurpees
on thursdays
new office or not
try to tell my body it's thursday and i can't have a slurpee
it won't listen
oh by the way, i think i'm going to stop drinking soda
i keep reading and hearing how awful it is all over the place
but --don't worry--that doesn't mean i can't drink coke slurpees
they're totally different

love

my sweet husband
i so enjoy his choppy side burns
no matter who's fault they are
and those lips
and his swedish nose
and the fact that he's gone doing my dirty work
ei: selling our old bed frame at his brother's house
and took noah with him
and picking up pizza
and of course
slurpees
that's love
ps. good news!
it's thursday
all new office

oh michael

Of course there are the obvious reasons why I married you. You are so kind and patient. You encourage me in every way. You treat me like a princess. You are a wonderful father.
But how could I have known.........
that we would make a tradition of eating little caesars pizza and drinking coke slurpees weekly,
that you would think to dress Noah in a shirt you could match or that you enjoy matching so much. You even try to match your tie to whatever I'm wearing to church each Sunday. Why do you think I change so many times?
Or that you would give Hazel your finger and suck on the binky yourself. Openly. At Target.
I love all of the fun discoveries.

Our Saturday

Hazel in her cute outfit I got for $1 at a garage sale Noah and Hazel in the stroller bundled in blankets Me and Michael Snoqualmie Falls A picture of the whole fam
Saturday we went to Snoqualmie Falls for a fun little day trip. We had a miscommunication that prevented us from hiking down (Michael thought we could take the stroller, we couldn't have without great difficulty) so we just saw it from the look-out points and got some hot chocolate. Afterward we went and saw the trains they have in Snoqualmie and explored a couple of shops. We also went to a baptism on Saturday and ended the night watching Office re-runs and drinking slurpees. Woohoo!
