i love my babies

 all five of them

we got to see our newest little one today

there were some cute wiggles and a beating heart

 last night noah's bath got bombed by each of his sisters one by one

i doubt they'll have too many more baths together

but it was soooo cute to see them all in there together

at one point hazel was washing eleanor's hair and noah was scrubbing olive's feet

my heart almost burst it was so full

i'm pretty sure i'll need to frame this

michael rearranged the kids room yesterday

and instead of hazel and olive sharing the top bunk

we decided to try olive on the floor with her toddler mattress

like a trundle

who knows if it will stay this way

 but it was super cute to see them all stacked top to bottom asleep last night

i am so grateful to be content being a mom

i love staying home and washing diapers, folding beds, cleaning up

i love that my kids know i'll be here when they get home

they are so precious to me

i hope they know that

hazel's first day of kindergarten

it's so crazy that hazel is ready for this! 

she's so excited

she wanted to ride the bus 

and have me meet her at school

so that's what we did 

 somehow the temp bus driver took almost an hour to get to their school

between road closures and an extra kid to pick up 

so that was kind of crazy

but i was extra glad i could be there to help her to her class

 checking in 

 sitting at her desk

and a little embarrassed of me taking her picture

we had a little drama with the teacher she was supposed to have 

so she switched teachers yesterday and i am soooo glad

she has the nicest teacher now

and two of her friends in her class

she is going to do great!

olive locked us out, baby bump and rummy!

eleanor is obsessed with olive's potty

she moves it around and sits on it all day long

also, she loves purses and makes sure to bring one when we leave the house

 baby bump at 8 weeks

we have our first ultrasound friday and we're super excited

 cool tricks, cool tricks

 yesterday hazel, olive and i were on the trampoline having a good time

until olive got mad at hazel 

ran inside and locked us out

here she is scowling at hazel and refusing to take the stick out of the door jam

such a stinker pants

we tried to sweet talk her to let us in and it didn't work

but then she was teasing me and taking the stick out for a second

and i opened the door super fast

the house was so locked that i wouldn't have been able to get in otherwise...

 hazel starts kindergarten tomorrow and i got a little emotional as she read me a book today

i'm going to miss having my little helper around

 this is the sweet set up michael came home to today

don't worry, i totally won

noah's been enjoying (getting used to) second grade

and while i do miss him while he's gone, 

it's nice to be able to clean the house and not clean up after him all day :)

it is my birthday

let's face it, sunday birthdays can kind of be the worst

unless you start them the day before (holla!)

we started with breakfast at magleby's 

then we shopped at city creek and i spent some birthday money

it was lots of fun

and we found a new chipotle in salt lake to eat at

delicious

then we let the kids play at ikea

and we enjoyed the break

also, i took a pic of my new bag michael got me for my b-day

and the new wallet i found to go with it

i looove them!

then michael and i finished the evening watching a lifetime movie called escape from polygamy

it was pretty good :) 

then today on my actual birthday michael had meetings before church

....and after 

but my sweet friend natalie did sharing time for me today and that was a huge relief

and one of my favorite presents (thank you, natalie!)

after church i napped while the kids and michael cleaned the house

to get ready for kate and erin to come over!!!

it was so fun to see them!!

 michael is so sweet and got me my favorite ice cream cake from dq 

 i took this year's wish verrrry seriously

the kids were so cute eating together

it was a super great birthday

here's to being twenty eight!

noah's first day of second grade and olive's first day of ballet

 noah has his first day of second grade today

he is really excited and a little nervous not to be a first grader any more

suddenly i feel so old having a second grader

 hazel and her friend james are both really excited for kindergarten 

and hung out near the bus stop for a little bit this morning

the kindergartners start next week

 hazel and olive also started ballet and tap again today

 this is hazel's third year of ballet and second year of tap

 and olive's first year of ballet and second year of tap

 i think eleanor thinks she's ready to dance, too

 hazel loved being back at her studio 

she is taking the same class as last year, i could move her up 

but i like her class and olive's being next to each other....

hopefully she doesn't get bored

 olive looked like a pro tapping

and really enjoyed her first pre-ballet class

she did a really good job and tried super hard

olive's first haircut

the day finally came 

i was offering noah and hazel school haircuts and olive said she'd like one

she pointed to her head and said she wanted it that short...like boy short

i told her i'd do it as short as her chin and she was happy

her hair was so, so long

since birth it's been long

but i feel relieved for her

it was a bit of a burden for her to have to have her hair combed

and done to look presentable

and most of the time it was just ratty

it always had food in it and was close to getting in the potty

she is sooo happy to have it short

i have always let noah and hazel choose their hair length

i feel kind of bad i hadn't let olive get a cut sooner

it's just hair

pirates, waffles, mini golf and a baby bump

hazel went to a pirate party last week

and was so cute all dressed up for it 

i made her friend a pirate doll 

 olive got all fancy just to walk hazel to the party

 we took the kids mini golfing for fhe because noah was dying to

and it was the worst form of torture

and nearly $40, too! such a rip

hazel was a little too close to hitting noah with her club...

noah enjoyed it 

so i guess that's all that matters..

 i'm only 7 weeks along but my baby bump is already really showing.....

 eleanor is pretty much the cutest thing ever

 hazel had another party today so i made her friend lily this doll

 eleanor insisted on bringing a purse to the store

 we had the slip and slide out a few days ago and michael launched the kids on it

 it was pretty hilarious

 last night we went to the riverwoods farmers market

and let the kids play in the splash pad and ended the evening with waffles from the waffle truck

 noah and i tried the peaches and cream

it was amazing

 hazel, olive and michael had the strawberries and cream

also delicious

sorry for the mish-mash-no-particular-order post

i have had the worst headaches and i've been sooo tired

so this is as good as it gets

i've been trying to not be a total drag for the kids last bit of summer

but i think we're all pretty ready for school
