thanksgiving

every year i curse driving over two mountain passes to go see family for thanksgiving
i was this close to convincing michael to stay home
not only because of the drive but because of the miscarriage
i didn't really want to see anyone
but we went
and it was good
the drive there was foggy and icy but it looked really pretty
we stopped at the seattle ikea for some things we'd been needing
and ate dinner there
we got to my parent's house late and went to sleep
the next day was thanksgiving so we got up and went to michael's parent's house
the boys had lots of fun playing minecraft together
michael playing farkle with his family
 me and my favorite

and his brother
i love that michael kept eating despite eleanor climbing on his back during dinner
i'm not sure how i ended up at the kids table...
hazel and katie always have so much fun together
a blurry picture of henry wearing michael's old sombrero
 eleanor loves janet
 and grandma
 the boys
 and their dad
 and abby

the next day we hung out at my parent's house
michael and i snuck away to see the final hunger games movie
it was really good and fun to have a date
when we got back monica and her kids were there
and my dad insisted we test out his new sweet tandem bike
the kids had a lot of fun together
they watched a movie and ate root beer floats
while us girls chatted and i cut my mom and monica's hair
we let these three have a sleepover
they loved it
saturday it was time to go home
we left at 7am and caught the bainbridge island ferry to seattle
we hadn't had time for breakfast so we got food on the ferry
which meant we ate pound cake, a salted pretzel, cereal and breakfast sandwiches
the kids thought it was pretty cool
it was foggy but we still had a pretty good view

it was freezing but we had to go outside anyway

 foggy seattle morning

we got home at 7pm our time
so it was 11 hours in the car
and two days of driving for two days of being there
but it was good to see family
i am most thankful for my sweet kiddies and husband

olive's kindergarten thanksgiving feast

despite it being kind of bad timing
i was really excited for olive's thanksgiving feast
she is our only kid to have one
but i had one when i was little and i still remember it
she was a cute little pilgrim

i was so glad michael was home and could come with us
 the feast

i love her little turkey hand

snow day

we woke up to a little snow last week
it was gone by like 10 am but the kids had a blast in it before they went to school

i've been enjoying our cozy little un-decorated house
but i am excited for the Christmas decorations
for dessert we had hot chocolate that night
it was delicious
