crossing things off our list

an ugly before picture

what we're going for

it's finally becoming real 

to both michael and i

that soon we will have another baby

and she'll need to have a pretty room to greet her

so we're finally starting on her nursery

yesterday we started sanding her crib

i think we were putting it off because it's a big project

i hate long projects

i like to spend about an hour...maybe an evening

on one project

not days

but this one is going to take a while

either way

we want the crib white

and her nursery will be super cute i'm sure

once we get things going

dear noah and hazel,

thank you so much

for both napping today

at the same time

and

for giving me an hour nap

that i don't think i could've lived without

who knew we were all tired?

i was hoping for more for you two

hazel's birthday

our little baby hazel

is two!

today was hazel's birthday

we had fun celebrating 

we ate pancakes for breakfast

she and noah played a lot

she got to take a late nap

we all went swimming

ate pizza for dinner

then had some cake

i don't think she understood the birthday concept 

but either way

she loved it

34.5 weeks

i went in for a regular ob appointment today

and was asked about my contractions

which i have a lot of

so they aren't normal but...i'm used to them

i was sent to the hospital to be monitored

and to get an ultrasound because i'm measuring big

they don't like you to have more than 

4 contractions in an hour

but i was having up to 12 an hour

so i'm on medication for it now

and i got an ultrasound

showing our new due date

it's a compromise of the old two

july 1st

and the baby is just over 5 pounds

i do have a lot of amniotic fluid which might be why i'm measuring big

seeing the baby was like christmas morning

she looks so pretty

just like hazel

but with chubby cheeks

and HAIR!

i even got to see her yawn

it was so precious

we're home

we had such a fun trip

but we're definitely glad to be home

day 3

today we had fun on the pier

with my sister

we rode a street car

and went shopping

so. much. fun.

day two

the kids (mostly noah) are in heaven

first airplane ride yesterday

and a train ride today

plus slurpees!
and my sister is on her way here!!!!

who could ask for more?

ps. the BART sounds like the smoke monster

i've only ever eaten at in and out

in one city

it's san francisco

hooray!

making it on stand by was super smooth

and no stress

noah completely LOVED flying

hazel didn't love it..

but did pretty well

so far so good

we're happy and having fun

and as long as my sister can make the stand by flights

she'll be here with us tomorrow

fingers crossed!!!

awake

it's 5 am

and i'm up

the alarm is set for 7

but the baby is super awake so

i am too

good news and great news

i have some definite swelling going on

but my blood pressure is fine

so it's no biggie

and the swelling is better today than it had been all weekend

so that's good

and the doctor gave me the ok to travel

so tomorrow we're heading to the airport

and flying stand by

to chicago to see my sister

if we make that flight

otherwise we're going to san francisco

because the flights are wide open

and we need a little adventure in our lives

we figure now or never

so michael took the week off

and while hazel is only 1 for another week and a half

we're going while she flies free

and while we only have two kids

should be fun

swollen

32/33 weeks
i have been super swollen for a few days now
not that you can tell, of course
i look ultra skinny in this picture...
but my first call tomorrow
will be to the doctor

preschool party

friday was noah's last day celebration

for his first year of preschool

it was so cute

the kids all sang a few songs for us

then we did some fun outdoor activities

there was even a firetruck

here's noah wearing a fireman hat

and holding a nozzle to a hoze

he almost fell over from the heavy hat

so the firefighter is holding on to it

then we went back inside for some facepainting

and lunch

it was so much fun

as was the entire year

but noah's happy to be done
and i'm excited to have him home
until the part when i have 3 kids at home all summer
i'm kind of nervous for that

today was michael's birthday

we kicked it off last night

with a date out to dinner

and a surprise party

where michael wowed us with his mad rock band skills

i mean really wowed us, he's on the floor here

today on michael's actual birthday

we went to breakfast 

at a new restaurant he wanted to try

then to the farmers market

then home for hazel to nap and us to catch up on our nbc shows

then we got lunch and ate it at a park

next michael let noah choose

between going to a movie

bowling

or swimming

and he chose swimming

which was fun, it'd been a while

then we came home and ate some cake

happy 26th birthday, michael!

today is a super nice day

so we played outside

while i was taking a little nap this afternoon

i could hear noah was busy in the kitchen

but i was too tired to do anything other than yell

"noah, no messes"

when i finally got up to check on them

they were sitting in the kitchen

and he said, "i made a picnic, mom"

it was so cute seeing them on their favorite blankets in the kitchen
eating mini oreos, raisins and cheese crackers
