Goodbye dear friend
September 20, 2015
ballet and soccer and doughnuts, oh my!
hazel and eleanor started ballet a couple weeks ago
this is hazel's fifth year of ballet!
i can't believe it
she was a little younger than eleanor when she started
they are starting to use the barre and she loves it
she also has a friend from her class last year and she has a lot of fun with her
eleanor started her first ballet class the week after hazel
she loves it!
she is so cute doing it and trying her hardest
all the other girls in her class were super nervous
but not her! she's been watching and waiting for years
then saturday before last noah and olive started soccer
olive likes it but got hit by the ball really hard her first game and that made her nervous
we still aren't sure we've found her thing but she'll stick with soccer for now
noah started soccer the same day and michael gets to coach him!
we're all pretty excited about it
noah scored the most goals for his team at his first game
he seems to really be getting the hang of it!
henry wants to know when he gets to start soccer
so sweaty after his first game
a few pictures from this last saturday
olive doesn't like how sweaty she gets playing soccer but she's so cute running around
we're at the soccer field for 2.5 hours each saturday between the two kids
so the little ones get bored
henry had fun feeding michael carrots
noah practiced before his game
i think henry was jealous of the sucker eleanor found in my purse
she eventually gave it to him and he trashed his sweater..
michael is such a good coach
the kids love him
after soccer this last saturday we went home and got dressed like pirates
for talk like a pirate day
we got lots of free doughnuts
then went to the meridian block party with the hunts
there were lots of bounce houses
and michael had lots of fun rolling the kids around in these inflated balls
life is good

prettiest sunset, soccer is over, matching jammies and sunday best
i don't know what it is but idaho has the best sky
we get the prettiest sunrises and sunsets daily
this sunset was espcially gorgeous and was lighting up our whole living room
michael brought me home some pretty flowers
he is so sweet
olive and noah had their last day of soccer this last saturday
i'm glad they did it but really glad it's over
we were at the field for 2.5 hours every saturday for five weeks and it got a little old
i took this picture of hazel while watching soccer
and it reminds me that the other day she said, "it's so crazy you're only 30 and you have five kids!"
i love what an adult she is
we're more like friends than mother/daughter
olive liked sitting on my lap and eating snacks while she wasn't playing soccer
she got her first trophy and that's her coach
henry's pretty sure he's ready to play soccer, too
michael did a great job as coach
the kids loved him
noah was beyond tired during soccer from staying up late with his cousin
as my sister in law and niece had been here late the night before
so he ended his soccer season in tears of exhaustion but it was good overall
michael dressed henry in his new button up blue jammies for the first time last night
and we couldn't get enough of him
his little toes!
michael put his matching jammies on this morning and it was beyond adorable
and a little sunday best
i love these kids and their huge personalities so much

oh the life of a soccer mom
little miss had ballet today
i always think she looks so pretty for ballet
noah started soccer today
i thought it would be a good experience
he did soccer when he was 3
but it wasn't competitive then
boy do things change when you're five
all the parents are way too in to it
and the coaches, too
and noah likes it
but he's not that in to contact sports
he's very self preserving
i left soccer with so much anxiety
that i never want to go back
but noah liked it!
for the first time, he likes the thing i put him in
why now?!
hopefully i can get over it
and not mind hearing his name barked at him
by his coach
and ignore the other parents talking about
all the strong kickers, etc.
at least olive rocked the shirt i made her today
ps. don't mind noah's shin guards on the outside
i didn't know!

kid-less in seattle
we have had such a fun spring break so far
last weekend we drove up to seattle
spent some time with my sister and her family
then we went up the peninsula to see
our parents
they live close to each other
so we got to see both sets quite a bit
here's a picture of our growing family
we forget to take those sometimes
we even got to go to church with both sets of our parents
and have lunch together afterward
noah loved all the attention
then this guy and i got to leave our cares (kids) behind for a few days
and go on a babymoon
if michael looks a little nervous here
it's because we haven't been alone in a while
and i think i intimidate him
while in seattle
we relaxed and shopped a lot
michael bought me pretty much anything i liked
so we stuffed this beauty from ikea in our trunk
michael bought me this little wristlet from coach
so i could ditch my diaper bag

michael totally spoiled me
it was a nice change from our typically very frugal lifestyle
we bought some new clothes
i decided i'm done with my new years resolution
and it was so nice to shop
i hate self deprivation
michael now has jeans without holes in the knees
here i am trying an oversized flower in my hair at anthropologie
we found some bubblegum ice cream
we had so much fun swimming in our hotel pool
going out to dinner
seeing a movie
going to the temple
sleeping in
enjoying each other without interruptions
and laying around
but...
of course we missed our kiddy cats
and we're glad to be home
