florence day one

our first meal in florence was mcdonalds breakfast
we were hungry and it was right outside the train station
we got to walk past lots of pretty sights on the way to our airbnb

we dropped our stuff off and went to an indoor food market

most museums and sights are closed on mondays so we just walked around and got acquainted with the city

 ponte vecchio

our airbnb was awesome and huge

 the laundry hanging!!!
i accidentally ordered the world's largest gelato
while michael ordered a small.....
luckily he helped me eat mine

 we climbed the bell tower
this one was stairs unlike the one with an elevator in venice

 the views were worth it

 inside the baptistry

 inside the duomo

in the basement/museum of the duomo
sandwiches from a popular place our pediatrician and michael's coworker referred us to
but i think we ordered poorly because they were just ok

we ate them back at our airbnb

we headed back out to walk away from the city for a view

 piazzale michelangelo

 we kept walking and walking

we tried to go to this cool church but it wasn't open in an obvious way so we walked ALL the way around it
it was a fun adventure and a nice walk

 we finally made it in
but after a while a cute little nun rapped on the window to tell us to leave
(we weren't the only ones there and i think it was time for them to close the gate)

 heart shaped margarita pizza
 he always makes me laugh
