January 14, 2019

the first half of january

i started january with a week of no social media and no treats
i'm still going strong on the no treats as of the 14th but it's definitely getting harder
here's a look at the first half of january
olive spent nearly all of Christmas break in her roller blades
jude had a BAD allergic reaction one morning
he started itching and turning red and then hives were covering his body and bubbling up like welts so i rushed him to urgent care
but we have no idea what caused it because nothing was different. so frustrating

benadryl helped but hours later he was still pretty red around his mouth
and he got super bad diarrhea for days afterward
family trip to walmart for jude's prescription
 morning cuddles with my babe
he is so fun to watch play

 lunch date with michael
 pillowcase races down the stairs
riding his firetruck while the girls craft
 temple date night
i thought this was so cute in hazel's room
then i spotted this in olive's room
and eleanor was very excited to show me her sign a day or two later
the perfect way to keep the kids from watching tv on sunday, legos!
 santa henry
reading
i can't say family home evening is our most peaceful time
but we try!
henry was so cute feeding jude
 jude is so funny
he likes to hang off our bed (usually feet first) and yell, "help, i'm falling!"
i can't believe he already tells jokes
nothing like climbing to the top bunk to read bedtime stories
but henry was so cute cracking up at calvin and hobbes
warm enough to play at the park without a coat in january? sounds good to me
poor michael had to have a colonoscopy to see what's going on inside of his body
with his way-too-frequent vomit/diarrhea episodes
it didn't show anything off the bat, which is good
but they took biopsies and we'll see if those show anything

we had to get some twin pictures before my bangs are too long

eleanor's school told me they tested her hearing twice (once in october  and again in december)
and she failed both times (NOOOOOO!)
so they referred us to the district audiologist for a free in depth hearing test
sadly, she has some hearing loss in her left ear, like her mama
which is terrible
but we'll get her into the ENT to see if there's anything we can do about it
she has had so many burst eardrums (without accompanying fevers) that it's probably from that
such a bummer
always making me laugh
the kids love these one piece pajama sets but hazel didn't have one so we found one on clearance
 doing some yoga together
roaming the halls of the middle school during noah's play because jude was way too noisy
noah's class did their own version of the princess bride and it was funny
 bedtime conga line
 these two are cute
jude's favorite spot for dessert
playing roll the ball to someone and tell them why you love them
all on their own and unprompted
it's a game we made up and would play for family home evening a million years ago
and it's been a while since we played it so i thought this was super sweet
he loves holding his pokemon cards inside his hat
silly boy
hazel is such an avid reader and i love finding things like this in her room
2019 is off to an amazing start
we're getting the house organized, planning our trip to italy, and enjoying our lives together
