a little vacation to utah: day 1

our poor kids hadn't gone anywhere all summer
while we went to hawaii, they were home
and we've spent all summer recovering from eleanor's surgery and cut finger
so we decided before we run out of summer, we needed to take a trip
we let the kids (and costs) decide where to go
we were thinking seattle/our parents house with maybe a trip to the oregon coast on the way
or utah
and the kids decided utah
they really miss it
so we drove down thursday morning
first stop was in salt lake
we went to city creek first
and let eleanor pick a prize from the disney store for potty training and she chose these jammies
we got lunch and let them play on the dinosaurs like the old days
we had fun walking around temple square
family picture in front of the salt lake temple

on our way over to the conference center, we passed a homeless woman
noah couldn't reach in his little medicine bag fast enough to give her some money
i had to snap a picture
his loving heart makes me burst with pride
he cannot stand to leave someone wanting

we had such a nice tour of the conference center from an old man named lyle

then back to city creek

just a lady with her 5 kids

then we got to our hotel and took the kids swimming

we ordered pizza and maybe snuck a few bites while still at the pool

the kids never get tired of swimming
it was a great start to our mini vacation
