our eighth anniversary!

last week we went to hawaii for our eighth anniversary

it was so awesome

we left early in the morning on our actual anniversary

 catching our little plane to portland

it was a long flight but we had fun playing cards

and enjoyed the long period of time without little ones interrupting 

 a welcomed sight

 we made it to oahu!

 first stop leonard's bakery for malasadas 

 delicious

 and then to rainbow drive-in for lunch

 and the best shave ice of my life from shimazu

strawberry and creme with ice cream in the bottom

the healthy eating was definitely on hold for the week

and this was all before we got to our hotel 

 we stayed at the aston waikiki beach hotel

 we got there early and got into our beach clothes and hit the beach

 that night we got dressed up and ate at alan wong's restaurant

we figured we should go somewhere fancy for our anniversary 

 the restaurant was really nice

 they even printed us a special menu for our anniversary and signed it

 pretty view

 the food was amazing

 and they gave us the sweetest dessert 

 we took an uber car to the restaurant and tried to walk back

but my shoes were super uncomfortable so i took them off

michael is the sweetest and insisted i wear his sandals so my feet wouldn't hurt

while he walked barefoot

we eventually caught a cab the  rest of the way

it was our best anniversary yet

we rarely have the chance to do much celebrating

so it was a very welcomed change

it was a great start to an amazing week

michael is such a wonderful husband (and dad)

i am so grateful to be married to him

eight years flew by and i can't wait to spend the rest of our lives and forever together
