michael went to japan, hazel got a haircut and we're heading to hawaii!!!

michael spent the last week in japan
it was way harder for me than i thought
and i thought it would be hard
i missed him so much
i think i literally went though the stages of grieving and the day before he got home
i was at acceptance that he was never coming back
and i couldn't look at him (while video chatting) without wanting to cry
what is wrong with me? #dependent
we were so happy to pick him up at the airport on friday

 the kids loved their souvenirs
 ninja noah

they love their fans and ate their pasta with their chopsticks that night

 michael needed a little nap
it's hard adjusting from a 15 hour time difference
i think he went about 27 hours without any real sleep because of traveling
the kids were so thrilled to have their dad back
i had hardly left the house the entire week so we needed food bad
we spent saturday getting things ready for our trip
and discovered hazel had a chunk of gum in her hair
she opted for a haircut rather than trying to get the gum out
 ta-daaa
she LOVES it
i've never seen her smile at herself in the mirror so much :)
i tried to get her to go a little shorter so it would be a cute short bob but she loves it this length
today michael's dad and grandma got here to watch the kids because we leave in the morning!!!!
yay!!
his mom will join them tuesday
i am a little worried about leaving the kiddies
but i know they are in good hands and they will have blast
plus, a whole week in hawaii with michael alone sounds AMAZING!
tomorrow we fly out and it's our anniversary
it's going to be so much fun
i'm super excited

I totally know what you mean about the stages of grief while your husband is gone, I did the same thing while Andy was in North Carolina. I hope you guys have a great time in Hawaii! You deserve it!

whenever garrett goes out of town, i pack up the kids and run back home. just you and 5 kiddos for a week sounds crazy. aka you are super mom! i think a week alone with your spouse sounds amazing, add hawaii, and i don't think i can grasp that level of amazingness. enjoy yourselves!!

I have never spent that long by myself (and kiddos) without Richard. I would probably die. Way to survive!
