we showed up at the hospital bright and early yesterday morning
for a scheduled c-section
they took a surprisingly long time admitting us and getting me all prepped
we told the nurse of my ONE request to have skin to skin contact right away
and she thought i was crazy
but the anesthesiologist was on board so she came around
look at that belly!
michael watched the c-section for the first time
and got a few pictures
they were right, there was a ton a fluid
here he is! i've never had such a cheesy baby
they're not normally born this early
i think his feet are pretty small compared to his siblings
he looks familiar in such a funny way
i can see a little bit of each of our kids in him
they rounded up and said he weighs 8.12 and 19.5 inches long
not bad for 39 weeks on the dot
we got to do skin to skin
and it was wonderful (other than being pretty drugged up myself)
i've never got skin to skin right away with any of my other babies
it was so nice and i'm so grateful they let me do it despite it being a c-section
here we are with our boy!
henry is such a doll!
nursing right away in the recovery room
an hour or two later the most excited kids stopped by to see him
they've been waiting a long time for this
eleanor seems to be a fan of the baby
but she probably doesn't understand that he's coming home soon...
olive loves him just as much as she thought she would
well, they all do :)
look at us with our FIVE kids
so lucky
grandma and henry
grandpa showing the kids henry
henry is so sweet
my sweet sister andre`a surprised us with a visit
she is so fun and spontaneous
sadly, henry had to go to the NICU last night and is still there this morning
we aren't loving that he's not with us but i was sooooo groggy from the meds all day yesterday
so i wasn't super aware of everything going on anyway
my eyes just wanted to shut
but i'm hoping to get henry back down with us ASAP
and i'm feeling much better today, thank goodness
we are so grateful he made it here safely
