birthday plans

one day old noah

noah's 4th birthday is 3 weeks away
and while i've thought for a long time about how to celebrate his next birthday
maybe a circus theme with him as a clown
cute decorations
and all his little friends over
michael and i like the idea better of birthdays being just a family day
and we do whatever the special person wants to all day long
until the kids care more about parties
so noah decided a while ago
that for his birthday he needs
to go mini golfing
so that is definitely what we will be doing
also he would like a rainbow cake
and cupcakes
i think i'll let him choose whether to go to preschool or not
but if he wants to go i'll take cupcakes to his class
we also like not buying the kids presents but doing fun things
and making memories instead
and then noah loves to spend his birthday money from grandparents
on toys that he chooses
last year we went to the seattle children's museum
and he looooooved it
i am so excited for his birthday
but it's also a lot of pressure
as the mom
to make everyone's day perfect
then after noah's birthday
michael's birthday is almost exactly a month later
then hazel's birthday is 11 days after that
i can't wait!!

It is a busy time, isn't it? But don't put too much pressure on yourself ~ he will love everything you do to make his day a special one. You're so good!

Birthdays can be so stressful, but I think it's a great idea to wait on the parties until they're more into it. We don't get our kids gifts either-- it's so much more fun to go do something as a family. I bet whatever you guys decide on will be amazing! Good luck planning all those birthdays!

Have fun...they don't have to be PERFECT you know. (o: Everything you do seems to turn out wonderful though.

I love your birthday ideas! You are so right, it will make it a lot more memorable to forego the gifts and instead focus on family time. I might have to steal this Rachael!

good thing pullman got mini golf last year! (or maybe 2 years ago, but still, it's definitely a new thing!)

Those are the best kinds of birthdays. Abby's favorite present last year was the balloon I got to decorate. We went to the Pacific Science Center to see the butterflies and she just loved it. Family birthdays are the best!

I love birthdays! Rylee's was yesterday...I need to post pictures, but I was running around making the day perfect from early in the morning to late at night when both Weston and I crashed. It is so worth it. Our plans didn't pan out exactly how we wanted but Rylee loved her day so much! Oh well...

Enjoy making plans to celebrate the people you love most! :)
