these shoes

this is my favorite pair of shoes

of all time

i love them more than

almost

anything

i found them at a local thrift store a year or two ago

they were $2

i have loved them ever since

i wear them daily

they are super comfortable

easy to put on

and go with everything

in my opinion

as of late they have been getting a little too tired

mind you, they were worn when i bought them

now they're beyond worn

i even stopped wearing them a few months ago

to give them their respect i put them in a shadow box

i enjoyed that

but it didn't last long

i still wanted to wear them

so i took them out and kept wearing them

but the damage was becoming quite obvious

when the insert was coming out the back (hole) while i walked

yes, they eventually got holes in the back

but i didn't care

i even stapled them and that lasted a while

and i still wore them

then michael started lovingly calling them my "homeless" shoes

because of the obvious wear and tear they had endured

it was time for a new pair we decided

so we tried to look up the company that made them

it's a little italian company who now only makes dance shoes

so no luck

anthropologie has a similar pair but they're like over $100

and probably wouldn't fit the same

i finally did stop wearing them recently

 when i started to feel a little embarrassed about the insert sticking out the back

so finally we decided we'd take them to a shoe repair place

they're charging $40 to fix them

which is of course, way too much

but we decided it's worth it

and they said they'd be done within the week

but they're not! 

it's been like 3 weeks

did i mention, the building says "fixed while you watch"

and they're still not done

and to top it off we keep driving to get them

but they're rarely open

and never answer their phone

michael stopped by there today and he said by monday

for sure

i hope he's right

i can't wait much longer

i'll show you when i get them

we'd better be blown away
