Dear neighbor,

Thank you for putting the cutest little picnic table in the dumpster.
We really like it.
It's perfect for our balcony.
And especially perfect for this nice weather we're having.
I'm glad you no longer needed it and didn't think to take it to the thrift store.
Or post it as "free" on craigslist.
Your trash is my treasure.
Love,
a poor mom
Is it really that different than finding something at the dumpster
if I have to reach half my body inside to get it.....

Good job, Tacho! And once one kid spills crap on it, it's used even if you just got it out of the box from the store. So finding it in the dumpster is the same as getting it from the store because you have to clean it once stuff gets spilled on it anyway. The only difference is that there may be rat poop on it from the dumpster, and that's a little gross. Bleach is great for that sort of thing!

you're amazing! how do you find this stuff?! I hope I can be as lucky. It was so fun hanging out on Tuesday - thanks again for lunch and for showing me how fun it is to have kids :)

I can't begin to list all the things we've "found" near our apt dumpsters! Most of them were great kid "finds," but we got furniture (i.e. endtable, ottoman) more than once! Ah, apt living. You belong to freecycle, right? That's almost as good...
