yesterday was good

hazel and olive were spending their morning coloring
and i walked in the kitchen to see eleanor coloring the table
she totally knew she was busted
and hurried to put the cap back on the marker
when i asked her if she was coloring the table she gave me the cheesiest smile
ps. aren't they the cutest in their matching nightgowns?
the dr. office called and told me i passed my glucose test!
they said i had one high mark but you need to have two or more to fail so...
i might be a little diabetic but i'm so glad i don't have to do a special diet and
prick myself multiple times a day
olive had speech and i got to see this picture of hazel on the bulletin board
she was a top croc and got the principal's award last month
there was one picked for each grade so she was the top kindergartner
pretty cute!
rather than distracting olive during speech, eleanor and i decided to walk around
she loved it
except when she spotted noah and hazel in their classes
and wanted them so bad
it was cute
i drove the kids home from school
and michael was here to greet us when we got here
olive needed a shoulder ride
michael is an expert pizza maker so he helped make dinner
actually, he made the whole pizza and breadsticks
while i made rice crispie treats
noah likes to tease his sisters a lot lately
so i sent him outside to jump on the trampoline
the kids all went out barefoot
despite the lingering snow in the backyard it's actually warming up a little bit lately
they had lots of fun and got some energy out
eleaonr came in first and needed a diaper change
i tried to keep her happy during it by singing to her
and when she was done she sat right next to me to sing with me
she is so smart and loves music
so she already knows some words and actions to her favorite nursery songs
like the wise man built his house upon the rock
do as i'm doing
and popcorn popping on the apricot tree
it's so cute
we also had a family home evening around the table
with noah and hazel (olive and eleanor were busy playing)
about all sorts of safety and what to do in an emergency
or if someone attacks them

it really was a good day

don't you love these random mish mash posts?

feeling huge
28 weeks
olive is obsessed with building forts all day every day
 here she is inside one
here is the start of henry's room (our closet)
there isn't too much more i'll do
since we're moving in a couple months but i'm glad we have a place for him
olive and noah taking turns jumping out of our little window
i spent 3.5 hours doing my glucose test yesterday morning
it was not fun
especially since on my last (4th) blood draw she dug the needle around a bit
and now i'm super bruised
i also felt like passing out for the entire day afterward
i'll find out my results on monday (fingers crossed!)
last night michael and i went on a date to california pizza kitchen
and saw catching fire
it was so awesome to go on a date
i love how much fun we have together all the time
 noah totally photo bombed this
but i was trying to capture how eleanor was resembling "mama's family"
this evening :)
on a random side note:
i asked michael to tell the bishop
and i told the primary president that i'd like to be released from my calling as the 2nd counselor soon
i know it's lame to do that but i've had a lot of anxiety this pregnancy
and my calling is stressing me out
not to mention i'll have a baby soon and we'll move shortly after that
luckily everyone was really understanding
but i'll be sad to not be working with the girls in the primary presidency anymore
and i'll miss seeing my kids in primary every week
and smiling at them as i conduct and give sharing times

January 9, 2014

apparently we're wearing pajamas a lot lately

hazel and her new doll in matching nightgowns
olive cuddling me as we stayed in our pjs all day long on tuesday
michael is the sweetest and met me at martial arts with a yummy soda
and those roses he surprised me with last week
eleanor has recently taken an interest in books
and taking pictures of herself
michael felt the party in my tummy a few nights ago
baby was jumping around like crazy
noah has been really in to playing the wii lately
it's all fun and games until someone throws a remote..

a name for the baby and gestational diabetes

michael and i settled on a name for the baby a few weeks ago
and even told the kids
it's been so cute to hear them refer to him by his name
michael and i have both liked the name henry for a long time
i would've named noah henry if it hadn't been my ex-husband's middle name
michael and i feel like enough time has passed that it doesn't matter anymore
we did have our reservations about it's popularity
and the fact that he and hazel with both start with "h"
but when it came down to it, we both like it and kept coming back to it
and we think it fits our family
christopher is the name of michael's identical twin that only lived 9 days
michael has always wanted to use it, at least for a middle name
so we feel good about doing so
.....
in other news
this girl!
(that's never happened before)
so i get to go back for the 3 hour test saturday
i'm not super happy about it
but it does explain why i've gained so much weight already despite my efforts not to
and it shouldn't be too shocking since each of my sisters has had it at least once
and to be honest, i did have a feeling i had it
oh well, hopefully it won't be a huge deal
.....
i'm almost 28 weeks! only 11 to go!
we moved eleanor into the small bedroom
and the big kids are sharing the bigger bedroom
so baby henry gets our closet which is awesome!

January 6, 2014

recently

hazel reading on the stairs before bedtime last week
at the same time noah was playing with baby cinderella
yesterday after church eleanor was growling at olive
and olive thought it was funny
this is my belly today at 27.5 weeks
all i can think about today is how sick i am of being pregnant
and i don't just mean this pregnancy
i mean pregnancy in general
i've been pregnant a lot
like years of my life have been spent pregnant
i wish i could be done already
before i get even bigger, more sore, less patient, gain more weight
i'd just really love to be done
that's all.

new years eve

we decided to let the kids celebrate new years eve for the first time this year
michael wanted to let them try to stay up until midnight but they were melting down a bit by 9:00 so that's when they went to bed
i made some crowns for them to wear for the festivities

we played wii for the first time in a long time
and ate cupcakes

and then we put eleanor to bed
and let the other kids watch hotel transylvania
afterward they had a sleepover in hazel and olive's room
that went ok other than the kids being surprisingly grumpy already
michael and i stayed up until midnight
just watching tv and eating some late dinner

happy new year!

happy new year!
here's to 2014!!!
