on our second day in rome we took the bus to the vatican
and waited in line for HOURS to get inside, in the rain
it was really cool but SOOOO busy and after waiting in the rain
didn't necessarily feel worth it
we opted out of waiting in line for another couple hours to see st peter's basilica
instead we took another bus over to the mall/ikea and rome temple
we ate in ikea because it's tradition whenever we're near
after buying church clothes at the mall we headed to do a session at the temple
and checked out the visitor's center
sunday we went to church and then took the metro to villa borghese
we liked the peddle car
we ate lunch at a cool restaurant in travestere
my calzone was insane and so delicious
we went to this crazy church with skeleton art all over the place
it was creepy and cool but we couldn't take pictures
then we tried come il latte for gelato and it blew our socks off
when in rome....you watch roman holiday
heading out to a fancy dinner
our last morning in rome we went shopping
one more gelato stop
then we trained over toward the airport and waited for an uber FOREVER
to stay our last night near the airport where the airline put us up for cheap
because they had cancelled our original flight home
this was a fun restaurant and little city
but the hotel was disgusting (we weren't surprised)
ready to go see our babies
we had to switch airports in california
and it was exhausting
plus a layover
our trip to italy was AMAZING
and life changing and i wish it wasn't over
i loved it so much
and i hope to go back some day
thank you to michael for making my dreams come true
and thank you to my in-laws for taking care of our crazy kids for almost two weeks
