october & halloween 2018

we had a great visit with michael's parents

 henry was so cute borrowing noah's slippers

 we made a quick trip to seattle to see family and support Anna getting baptized 

 we brought a pinata just for fun

 it happened to be the 12th anniversary of our first kiss so we stopped by andrea's old apartment

to recreate it

with 6 kids in tow

 debbie is the sweetest host

 we stopped in cle elum for church at the little branch

it was quirky and nice

 sweet sleepy girl

 jude is super healthy and doing great

even if he doesn't seem amused to be at his 2 year check up

 i am really enjoying my bangs and buns

 i took the kids to their dental cleanings

it was jude's first time and he didn't love it but did pretty well

 sewing for family pictures

 playing with the leaf blower

 lunch at the school for subway day (eleanor refused a picture)

 we had a nice visit from bryce on his way to washington

 we ran into my friend ashley at cafe rio

 and happily watched her baby while she ate

 noah set the table so nicely

reading to their stuffed animals

 after family pictures they had to go exploring

 date night downtown with this handsome devil

we tried the funky taco and liked it

 then we shopped at trader joe's and got ice cream at the stil

it was one of my favorite dates

 i surprised the kids by wearing noah's jammies down to breakfast on sunday

 they thought i was funny

 all gussied up for church but everyone thought i'd cut my hair off

 the kids had their primary program

and did great

 monday i burnt dinner

 so we got dinner at the fred meyer deli

where another customer was so rude to the employee

 so as we ate dinner in the car in front of the temple we talked about treating everyone kindly

and remembering they are children of God, too

 halloweeen manicures

 supportive siblings while henry got a filling

 always asking for a haircut

 olive was pretending to be a stranger

 we love chirp

 eleanor sweetly keeps her shared room with henry clean

and makes their beds and even sets out their clothes

 doughnuts to reward them for doing so well in school after conferences

 making cookies

 jude let himself into the coop!

 hazel had some friends over and they had lots of fun playing pie face

 getting ready for the trunk or treat

 helping me decorate cookies for our party

 such a boy

 almost time for our big halloween party

we had over 100 rsvps yes so we were a little nervous but it was great

 movie and popcorn in the garage

 fun at the library with the little boys

 michael was home late from work so i had to start it myself which was scary but went pretty well

 hazel and i worked on her giant white pumpkin together

 henry is getting good at writing his name 

even if it's with chalk on his wall decor

 spooky lunches for the girls

 i love taking pictures of the kids in their festive halloween clothes each year

but noah leaving earlier makes it tricky so we did it without him

 jude was a little hot and cold about the pictures

henry had a fun halloween party at school but the other kids don't get to celebrate it at school

we had pumpkin and ghost pizza for dinner 

 most of the kids had costume changes nearly every time they got to dress up

but here's their final halloween costumes

olive was cleopatra

jude was a puppy

 hazel was hermione granger from harry potter

 eleanor was a queen

 noah was a dinosaur

 henry was a werewolf

 michael and i wore these masks for a second

i only went to a couple houses with jude

(he was the CUTEST trick or treater ever)

and then i took him home for bed and passed out candy while michael took olive, eleanor and henry 

 we let noah go trick or treating with his friends

and for the first time let hazel go with her friends, too

they're growing up! and they had a lot of fun 

october was pretty great and i love celebrating halloween with these cute kids
