spring break part four: henry's birthday

henry turned three during spring break

 that morning my dad, michael and noah went to go help chuck burn stuff 

 i love this picture of jude and my mom

 we had michael's parents over to my parents' house for lunch

 michael's parents brought henry a birthday cake

his big request was car candles so we attached the candles to the hot wheels they put on

 the birthday boy

we sang to grandpa olson, too

since his birthday is the next day

opening presents

 henry loves the remote control car michael's parents got him

we spent some time going through old pictures

 my dad and his parents

 my brothers chris and ryan

 me

 birthday tractor ride!

 noah also really likes henry's new remote control car

 we snuck in some ping pong

michael and i played doubles against our dads

it was really fun

 henry snuck into michael's hair stuff

and got a birthday bath afterward

 a movie before bed

 hazel loved racing grandpa kelly doing wonder-words

 wednesday we drove all the way home

it took the entire day

 we missed the first ferry boat so we got out and stretched our legs

the kids loved riding the ferry, as usual (me too)

it was SO cold and windy we only went outside for a minute

 brrrrr

 we shared tater tots and skittles.....weird food combo for like 9 am

 a quick stop in yakima

 i worried a lot about how jude would travel but he was AMAZING

such a good little car traveler and so easy going about everything 

yay! 

 henry on the other hand...

it was such a great trip

so fun to take jude to washington for the first time

and to go somewhere for the first time since the world's longest winter

it was a great time with family
