a reflection on 2015

what a year
there was a lot of good this year mixed with some sad and hard
we focused on being healthy and went the entire year without drinking soda
only drinking slurpees on vacation
i lost a bit of weight and ran my third half marathon
michael went to japan for a week for work
i was really happy for him to get to go but it almost killed me i missed him so bad!
we went on our first kid-free trip since our honeymoon to oahu
and it was the most amazing week!
 hawaii was gorgeous
and we enjoyed every uninterrupted minute together
 shortly after we got home
eleanor got her tonsils out
which was awful
and then a month later she got stitches and shortly after they healed henry got some, too
despite the injuries and surgery we did have a good summer
with a day trip to mccall
and a trip to utah to visit our old stomping ground
and the kids went back to school
i turned 30
and then we got pregnant and miscarried baby number six at 9 weeks
it was a really good year
but it ended on a sad note
and it's hard to look back on 2015 with a lot of fondness
i am looking forward to 2016 and i could not be more grateful for our five healthy children
or my loving, darling husband
i've decided not to make any goals for 2016
except to enjoy my life, love my husband and cherish my children
