we went to dinner at cafe rio friday night
and then to the mall
when we were passing claire's i asked eleanor if she wanted her ears pierced
it was maybe bad timing because she has an ear infection and it was kind of late at night
but she said yes so that's what we did
plus, it's tradition to do it this way
unplanned, late, spontaneous
ate age three
this is how it's gone all three times
so brave and calm beforehand
until it happened...
she was so sad :(
poor girl
they gave her a free claire bear to make her feel better
but the only thing that really made her feel better was a mcdonald's ice cream cone
then she was great
and so happy about her new earrings

Poor Eleanor, getting those pierced stinks but worth it. Caroline wouldn't let us near her for weeks after we did hers. Eleanor is so cute!
Hey, that's basically the same way we've done it in our family. Spontaneous at age 3! I know Michaela wants earrings, but I think she'll react very similar to poor Eleanor (although she doesn't have the ear infections to blame). At least this way she's young enough she probably won't remember it!
