decorating the Christmas tree

we stopped on our way home from my parents house

and bought a tree late at night after an 11 hour drive

per tradition

so sunday we could decorate it

we intentionally got a small one so we wouldn't have to rearrange

and so the kids could still fit to play the piano

i think the kids were a tiny bit disappointed but it's ok

 they loved decorating the tree

michael and i hung the lights and they did all the ornament hanging

 henry now thinks Christmas trees are the coolest

and loves all the little balls on them

 eleanor and henry are so cute together

 of course he ended up in the box

it was so fun to watch all the kids in their Christmas jammies

decorating the tree happily together

while we listened to Christmas music

i just love them and their excitement

we finished the night with hot chocolate, of course
