a fun trip to seattle (part one)

we left last wednesday night after parent teacher conferences for my brother's house
half way to seattle to spend the night
i realized my 13 year old nephew, seth, is now taller than me
by quite a bit
dang it!
we enjoyed the pretty view thursday morning as we made it the rest of the way to seattle
our first stop was ikea where we got to shop with just henry while everyone else played
then we went to lunch with my sisters at the kent azteca (classic!)
it was so fun to see them!

after lunch we headed downtown to pike place
i bought the girls some princess crowns which hazel later cried about
we decided to leave our stroller at home to save trunk space
so i wore henry in the wrap and michael wore eleanor in the ergo
which was great but somehow made our large family more of a spectacle than it is with the stroller
we got my mom some pretty flowers
we looked out at the big wheel
and watched the cheese being made for a minute
olive requested visiting the gum wall so we bought some gum and headed down
it was a gorgeous day in seattle
followed by more driving to my parents house
friday morning we woke up at my parents house and the kids got introduced to life on the farm
they all love their dogs (even hazel!) and noah helped empty the compost bin
olive is such an animal lover
my mom and i spent all of friday morning cooking
while noah and olive played outside
and my dad and michael took the other three kids to run errands
thursday afternoon we had the olsons and great grandma shirley over for lunch

henry still loves his grandpa olson
and made sure to show all his grandparents how busy he is
my parents gave each of the kids 2 dollars to spend at the joyce store
so we all went over there after lunch

then we all went to salt creek
the kids loved the deer (especially henry)
 playing with their new boomerangs

we asked a nice lady to take our picture
when we got back the grandmas took the kids up to feed the animals
it was such a nice day spent together with all the grandparents
it's really nice our parents live close to each other and get along so well
