date night: float the river

my parents offered to watch the kids for us to go out on a date on friday night

we weren't sure what to do since there aren't any good movies playing

but i suggested we float the river and michael was game

 we own a raft so we figured out how to shuttle and we did it!

it was a little out of our comfort zone 

it felt like we were back in hawaii doing something spontaneous

it was really fun

 the whole trip down the river was gorgeous!

 we put our phones in ziploc bags in case we got wet

we got really wet

and they leaked!

 this was our first big dip down and it soaked us and got a bit of water in our raft

 it was fun to go under bridges and see people rope swinging and fishing

we were hoping to make it back before sunset 

because our car would get locked in the park if we didn't

so we hurried and made it

the sunset was gorgeous 

and even though michael's phone is trashed

and mine only works to talk on speaker phone

we would definitely do it again

it was super fun and way more memorable than a movie

we went to dinner at gino's afterward 

it was delicious as always and we were starving

thanks mom and dad for watching the kids
