the bruneau sand dunes

we went with some friends to the bruneau sand dunes on friday night

we headed there after michael got off work to spend the rest of the night there

it was gorgeous and only like 1.5 hours away

 the kids ran up the first sand dune they found

 they had fun running up and down and tried sledding a little, too

 there was a lake in between some dunes

it was pretty murky looking but still really pretty

 it was really windy at the top

and the kids tried flying their kites a little

 i was only planning on staying up top for a little bit while henry and ella played at the bottom

but michael was super tough so he brought them up

 i love, love, love this picture of these three

 when more of our friends showed up we went to a shorter sand dune

for the kids to play

 the sun was setting and it was gorgeous

 the adults tried playing spikeball 

it was surprisingly fun

i love this action shot of michael with both feet in the air

 the girls all wore gray shirts and matched accidentally

 as the sun went down we packed up and built a fire at a campsite 

and roasted marshmallows for s'mores

we didn't get home until after midnight

and we were all covered in sand

but it was so much fun
