kicking off summer

yesterday i got the kids all ready to go to the pool

and then it was closed due to "contamination" 

so we went to the park/splash pad instead

 i was relieved henry kept on his sunhat 

and he loved the splash pad

 it was a hot day

so i got the kiddies some snow cones to share

 the kiddies are starting to sleep in more 

i'm so glad

except when it's in my bed...

 hazel was up in the night with growing pains

and she was tossing and turning a ton once i let her sleep in our bed

not my favorite

 speaking of hazel, she started piano lessons today

she and noah went together and had so much fun

they shared the prizes they earned and hazel has been practicing nonstop since

plus, she's teaching herself cursive

she loves to learn

 eleanor insisted on painting after breakfast

and told me her painting was called idaho

 i sewed myself a high waisted bikini to add to my bag for hawaii next week (NEXT WEEK!!!)

 it was fun to make

so far we're having a pretty low key relaxed summer

other than piano lessons we don't have much scheduled during our days

i'm enjoying it

and i think the kids are, too
