grandma and grandpa olson came to visit

michael's parents came for a visit last week

they brought second Christmas

the kids were pretty excited

 henry liked the wrapping paper a lot

 happy kids thanks to presents from grandma and grandpa as well as uncle kyle

 michael and his dad are twins

 hazel and her robot she built with grandpa's help

 our kids have had lots of colds recently but on new years eve eleanor had a temperature

and said her ear hurt a lot so we went to the urgent care

and she has an ear infection :( 

poor girl

 she perked up eventually and we went to the mall

the kids all liked zoning out on personal ipads at the apple store

 cute boys on grandma's lap

 one last family picture of the year

we let the big kids stay up until 10

and that was plenty late for them

 michael and i got in bed just before midnight and took some last pictures

 the next day michael and his dad started working on building up our sunken living room

 we tried to keep henry out of their way

but he got creative and found a way though 

 progress

i think it was really neat for michael and his dad to work on this together

(thank you, leif! sorry about your sore knees!)

 we had to take them to big judd's to share a burger

it's so good!

 and on their last night visiting they watched the kids so we could go on a date

we went to the temple first and i got to be baptized for my grandma kelly

it was really special

then we went out to PF Changs with a giftcard michael got from work

and then we saw mockingjay

it was super fun
