our kids need to be doing more chores
i typically do everything while they lazily watch tv
(yeah, we weren't ready for tv free summer this year i guess)
but no more!
i made them each a chore chart
(i totally felt like my dad making them with a ruler)
and made them a deal that if they do ALL their chores every week they get $5
if they miss just one they get half the money
and if they miss two, they get no money
so far it's very motivating to them
one of their chores is working on writing/workbooks
this is mostly because noah hates to practice writing so i have to force him..oh well, it's working
(every day they each have to get dressed, brush teeth, make beds, clean their rooms, do workbooks, read 30 minutes and then each have individual chores like vacuuming, dishes, bathroom, playroom...olive's is simpler and i'm not sure how much i'll pay her yet)
yesterday i took some pictures while noah and hazel worked on workbooks
and olive painted and eleanor was just plain cheeky
the first picture she's just being silly
this is her "i'm not sure i understand" face that's also silly
unhappy for some reason
but still a little silly
and this one just kills me
she is hilarious
we also registered olive for a preschool last night!
yay!!! the owner is LDS and super nice
it's close to our house and not as outrageously expensive
and they use a real curriculum, hurray!
although we'll still put her in the pre-school through the district if she qualifies
PS how depressing that it's 7-11 and we live in idaho where they don't believe in 7-11
oh well, it's friday and payday!

I love that last one of Eleanor! She is a doll. We don't have 7-11 here either. :(
I think it's so hard to keep a good routine of chores and all of that stuff going. Good luck with it!
We do the same thing with the chore charts. Someday it works good, other days, not so good!! :) The girls love checking it off!!
Our chore chart and homework has been a success too. It makes you feel like a great mom when they are learning and growing!
