backyard camping, the zoo and some me time

friday after michael got home

and we ate dinner

i went out shopping for a few hours alone

it was really nice to have some 'me' time

i've seriously never needed it like i do lately

michael is gone a lot and i often go the whole day not talking to anyone but the kids

and only leaving the house to get the mail

it can be pretty depressing so i'm trying to get out more

maybe i'll join a gym..

 while i was gone henry fell asleep on the floor sucking his thumb

 michael and the kids roasted marshmallows in the backyard

 he's way more fun than i am

 they thought it was super fun

and while i was a little sad i missed it, the kids actually had the chance to miss me while i was gone

henry even let out a little whimper when i walked in the door 

it was super sweet

michael also set up the tent for the three big kids to have a camp out in the backyard

they came in the house a few times

but eventually they all slept the tent for the night

 saturday they got up a little too early

but it helped us get out of the house quickly

so we could go garage saling

we found a basketball hoop for $15 for noah and some other toys for the kids,too

then we went to the zoo

 when eleanor saw the monkeys she started singing 'five little monkeys jumping on the bed'

  my little baby birds

 michael was sweet and offered to wear my purse

we thought he looked like philly jim from the office :)

 we paid a few dollars so we could feed a giraffe some lettuce

 olive backed out immediately 

and then hazel, too

so michael did it

 and noah

 and me

it was pretty awesome

 hazel took over the camera for the rest of our trip
