yesterday just 10 minutes or so after i got home from dropping hazel at preschool
(just long enough i'd put eleanor down for a nap)
i got the call that hazel got her finger smashed in a door
and that i should come look at it
i rushed back there to see her
she started crying all over again when i got there
and said she wanted to come home
but she seemed ok enough that i didn't take her right away to the doctor
and instead we rented a barbie movie
and i fed her ice cream while she iced her finger
michael came home to see her, too
and we decided we should take her to the doctor
her finger was really swollen
after an x-ray they saw it does have a tiny fracture
who knew getting her finger shut in a door by a fellow preschooler could break it?
she got it all wrapped up
(which she hates)
and it's supposed to stay in the brace for 4-6 weeks
poor girl! she's our first child to break a bone
we used not only her broken finger as an excuse, but the fact that olive is rocking potty training
and their filled up bean jar (our reward system)
to take them to chuck e cheese
they loved it (of course) and we were happy it was so much less ghetto than the kent location

Poor thing! Having a child with a restriction from a broken bone is NO FUN! Here is to fast healing!
Poor Hazel. I can see she is being well taken care of. You and Michael are awesome parents.
Poor Hazel. What a great way to end a not so good day for Hazel though.
That looks so painful....poor girly!
So sad, this happened to Ryan once. Luckily they probably won't really remember it. You are such a good mom.
