special dates with the kids

last weekend michael and noah went 

to a monster truck show

just the two of them 

thanks to his cousin jennie hooking them up with tickets

 they had a super fun time

 especially after they bought earplugs and cotton candy

noah thinks monster trucks are pretty awesome 

so this was kind of mind blowing for him 

today hazel and i went on a date of our own to a ballet performance

of the advanced dance companies associated with her ballet academy  

we had a good time

and i thought it was good for hazel

to see how far she can go with ballet if she wants to

after seeing the girls dancing in their point shoes

she even got out of her chair and tried to do it :) 

 she was really in to it for a while but eventually got kind of antsy

i enjoyed it

it's pretty fun to slow down and spend individual time 

with each child

i almost took olive with us to the ballet but

i'm glad i could have some time with just hazel
