random ramblings

it was lame taking noah to spokane today to get his cavities filled, having the dentist tell us he has a respiratory infection, prescribe antibiotics, and send us home. we rescheduled for 6 weeks from now. this is especially weird since between croup and this new infection, noah has seemed completely fine.

i'm confused by the podiatrist's recommendation to wear tennis shoes whenever i'm walking around. at all. i understand the logic but not the execution. tennis shoes aren't cute. especially not all the time. at least he said my foot healed nicely and i can keep running.

i can't wait until michael gives me a "fashion show, fashion show, fashion show at lunch" with the new clothes that we ordered him. they came in the mail today.

someone please hide my shears. i keep cutting my hair and i hate it. it was uneven so i had to fix it but it keeps getting shorter and i really don't like it. i feel like i'm in an awkward phase. i don't think wearing tennis shoes all the time is helping.

i am so happy that netflix added yo gabba gabba to the instant streaming. we'd been missing it.

michael and i were considering getting a new couch, a more conservative one but i got cold feet and decided we should live it up with our 10 foot chartreuse couch while he's in school. i'm not ready to go all serious with our furniture (or clothing, or hair) yet.

speaking of school, we've been in pullman for 2 years and have either 1 or 3 more years but i feel more and more isolated here everyday. we really need a trip to seattle. i can't last much longer without a trip to ikea and chipotle.

for some reason i haven't wanted to sew or blog lately. not sure why. i think the weather is depressing me. it's june and it's rainy. and really cold. so lame.

hazel told noah to come up on her bunk and he asked her if it's smells like diaper up there. she said no. so he asked if it smells like cookies up there. she said yes.

I think every podiatrist would recommend wearing tennis shoes all the time. They obviously don't know how much better we look in wedges and heels. Stupid foot doctors.

I think the weather is putting everyone in kind of a funk lately. I can relate to being sick of Pullman and bad weather. You should see the inserts my podiatrist gave me years ago. I have never used them because they are these enormous plastic, super uncomfortable things. Plus he told me "no more flip-flops". Yeah right, I can't do that.

A few comments... you can come vacation with us on the beach :) also, the house here has On Demand and since we haven't had "tv" for years we just watched our first episode of Yo Gabbagabba, hilarious. Ben even liked it. And last, I love your couch--we can switch, mine is from Ikea and we're getting tired of it. I lied, one more comment, Hazel and Noah's conversation made me laugh.

For one: I cannot believe that you have already been in Pullman for 2 years! Two: I cannot imagine your hair looking awkward. ever. And 3. I agree with the shoe thing. Tennies are no fun. They make me feel frumpy.
