tonight at dinner

while eating olives from her pasta
hazel said
"baby......olives"
"mmm i eat baby...olive"
i guess she's realizing a connection between her sister and one of her favorite foods

while eating ice cream cake for dessert
hazel sang
"happy birthday to you mommy"
such a sweet girl

then after dinner
hazel got stuck and yelled
"stuck"
i said, "oh, you're stuck"
and she said
"super stuck"
she said it exactly like noah does

hazel is the funniest

6 weeks

olive is six (and a half) weeks old
here's an update
i've started walking my 3 miles a day again
turns out pushing 2 and carrying 1 is hard
but a good work out, right?
olive sleeps 7 hours straight at night
she was doing 6 since about 2 weeks
but 7, i just love her for it
my incision doesn't hurt
yay!
hazel isn't very jealous anymore
thank goodness it didn't take her
as long as it did noah to adjust
when he was replaced as baby
michael starts school on monday
i'm a little scared to have him gone so much
but i'm sure we'll adjust quickly
and noah...well he still loves thomas
and we like it when he says things like
"my mom will be cross if i do that"
or
"what nonsense"
which are of course lines from thomas

this week....

i sewed myself a couple of skirts
using this tutorial

we took some naps
noah watched way more thomas than one should

hazel insisted on having a bow in her hair at all times
i made kissy faces at michael
we switched olive to cloth diapers
hoping she won't rash like hazel does since living in pullman
it's been a few days
so far so good
and we went to see dispicable me ,
thrifting, garage saling,
out to teriyaki, and worked on some projects
it was a pretty good week

Yesterday Olive was blessed. It was so nice to have family here. Michael's parents spent the whole weekend with us. Then my parents, Bryce, and Ryan and his family were here for Sunday. Michael gave Olive a beautiful blessing and then we all enjoyed a nice lunch at our house afterward. The grandkids all had a blast together. Noah and Justin used to fight every time they were together but this time they were best friends...even a little mischievous together. They decided to throw pop cans on the rocks to watch them explode. Silly boys. Luckily it wasn't too hot so we could be inside or outside. The whole weekend was really nice. Saturday we went swimming at the hotel Michael's parents were staying at, had a fun trip to Costco, and then they watched Noah and Hazel while we went to see Inception and out to dinner at Sangria. It was really fun. We love our family.
