an exciting week

monday the kids didn't have school 

but they did all have dentist appointments

luckily michael met me there because eleanor was CRAZY running all over the place

and they weren't great with little kids

so olive has been referred to a pediatric dentist...blurg

speaking of olive, we took the kids to burger king after the dentist

and she full-on peed her pants

because she was "too excited" to go potty...

tuesday they didn't have school either because of veteran's day

so we stayed home in our pjs all day

henry had THE best bedhead

and it was a nice low-key day at home

yesterday michael came home early because he wasn't feeling great

but we went out to teriyaki and costco anyway

it was a fun little date despite michael being super tired and a little lightheaded 

 this morning all the kiddies looked so cute all lined up watching cartoons in our bed

 we're having our first snow today

hazel and i wore our matching boots

 olive spent hours outside playing in the snow

she loved it

 eleanor joined her for a little bit

every time she saw the snow she yelled, "Christmas!"

and she insisted on wearing henry's tiny 6-12 month coat

she calls it his "rainbow coat"

 she was not so happy that the snow made her so cold

 henry was cracking up because olive kept kissing his cheeks

our new dishwasher came today so i'm excited for michael to install it tonight!

just some cute kids before church

 i bought noah this jacket at a thrift store SO MANY YEARS ago

like maybe 5 or 6

and i've been holding on to it forever

it has elbow patches so....worth it

he looks so cute in it

 henry was eating some paper

and michael fished it out

and i took a picture

win win win..

 then they all posed together

because they love including henry in everything

 here's me and our messy kitchen

 we keep having this problem

where michael puts the kids in the car

and thinks i'll get them shoes (or a coat or whatever)

despite not knowing that he put them in the car without shoes...

there's definitely a lack of communication

so...olive and eleanor ended up at church without shoes

i figured that's ok enough for eleanor because she occasionally takes them off during sacrament

and won't put them back on anyway

 but olive is four...she needs shoes

luckily hazel's moccasins were in the van

so olive got to wear them

so funny

at least we made it to church on time, right? :) 

family date night

we found ourselves with nothing to do on friday evening

so we told the kids we'd take them ice skating at the village

and as we were gathering all our mittens and scarves, i thought i'd double check it was open

nope! not for another week

so...we decided to try and make it to see big hero 6 at the village instead

we didn't know if we'd make it since it just came out

and we need a lot of seats

but noah said a prayer on the way

and we made it! 

there wasn't time to get any dinner so we ate popcorn for dinner

no one seemed to mind

it was a good movie.,geared mostly toward noah's age but everyone liked it

it was a super fun family date

we all love going to the movies

and since michael's a super fun dad, we stopped for doughnuts on the way home

henry has teeth, a play, a wall, and some naughties

henry got his first tooth on november 1st

he was up a lot of the night ahead of that

and we were relieved to know why the next day

we let him celebrate by eating french fries

 i really like henry's head

and his fuzzy hair 

 on sunday i let henry take a nap on me before church

it's nice to take a break and just hold him for a while

 after church the kids made masks

memorized lines and put on their real first play for us

 it was super cute

 here's where we're at with the plank wall

we ran out of wood and haven't had a chance to work on it in a few days

but hopefully we'll get the rest up tonight

michael has done such an awesome job with it

we're really happy with it so far

after it's all up we plan on painting it white and adding a mantle

at least on this side

 i try to enjoy my time with olive while eleanor and henry occasionally nap

 speaking of eleanor...

she hasn't been great about napping now that she can consistently get out of her crib

and take her clothes and diapers off...despite our old trick of covering it with a cloth diaper cover

she also loves to trash the bathroom with water and toothpaste

and color on our kitchen cupboards

and lock me out of the van

and run away at stores and church

she's a definite handful right now

it's a little bit exhausting

 we took all the kids with us to vote last night

everyone hated us for it

it was really busy and crowded without our million kids with us... 

 we haven't really had medical or dental insurance consisitently for the last several years

other than while i was pregnant

and you can't get x-rays then so..i was pretty nervous to go to the dentist

and get my teeth cleaned and x-rayed today

but i only had 2 cavities! i was so happy

i haven't had a cavity filled in like 10 years so i really expected it to be worse

i'm so grateful we have good insurance now...hooray!

 after the dentist i picked the kids up from my friend melissa

and took them to chick fill a just for fun

i realized i never take the little ones anywhere just for fun 

like i always did with noah and hazel when they were younger

 they were pretty cute lunch dates

 henry got his second tooth yesterday

(and didn't sleep again last night..)

and i got a picture of them today

i gave blood yesterday and it really wiped me out this time

i'm not sure why

i might be getting another cold 

either way, suddenly when i lay on the couch

everyone wants a cuddle

at least they're all really cute

i love these little muffins so much!

halloweeeeen 2014

we had such a fun halloween yesterday

everyone wore their festive shirts but i only got a picture of henry

because out of all the kids home during the day (not at school)

he's the only one who didn't play in the sink and soak himself and the whole bathroom

not to mention the toothpaste..

(olive and ella...)

 he was sad a second earlier and then started smiling for the camera

 we were pretty bummed for the kids that they couldn't celebrate halloween at school

but they didn't seem to mind too much

after school we got costumes on

eleanor loved wearing a headband 

and made such a cute supergirl!

 henry was the CUTEST monkey!

i don't think he could have been cuter

and he wore it all around while he crawled all over

he didn't seem to mind it one bit

henry stayed home with me

 our friends the hunts came over

and the dads took all the kids trick or treating

while crystal and i stayed home with the babies

it was such a fun night

i loved being in our own house for it

it felt so special

and it was so fun with our friends

even if there are 10 kids between us :)
