odds and ends of early october

the kids love rainy days

they bundle up and run outside until they're totally soaked

 dragging michael's bath robe belt around like he's walking a dog

 eleanor happened to ask when she'd be 6 and a half on her actual half birthday

and then proceeded to change into a fancy dress and pose for pictures

 target date with my sweetheart

 eleanor just gets me

 we bought noah a new one piece hooded pajama set because he outgrew the last one

and he slept so well, until 11:30 the next day

 what do you do when you have days off of school?

make messes!

 i saw a girl in paris wearing a shirt like this and i loved it

because i love mindy kaling and thought it was funny so now i have a cozy sweatshirt

 general conference was so great

 between the saturday sessions we ran to wagner farms for pumpkins and fun

 sunday we tried conference bingo and it helped everyone listen much more carefully

 sunday evening shenanigans

michael's parents are so sweet to let me sneak out for a little bit when they're here

we've had such a nice visit with michael's parents

despite laif having an awful back injury

we're happy we go to see them

Jude is two!

in preparation for jude's 2nd birthday i checked out a mickey mouse dvd from the library

he loved watching it and gathering some of his mickey toys

 i did a little decorating

 made a cake

 officially a two year old!

 and now for the next 6 months they are 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12

 since the kids are off of school for the majority of the week 

i decided to invite some friends over for a playdate brunch/celebration of jude's birthday

 we went to lunch with michael

 jude took a late nap from having lunch with michael

and when i eventually woke him up for dinner around 5:15 he needed a diaper change

and the whole thing put him in a really bad mood

so he wasn't very interested in any of the birthday/dinner festivities the rest of the night

 happy to see a couple smiles out of him

 pretty happy about his mickey mouse choo choo, even if he doesn't look like it

 not sure about his two dollars from grandma and grandpa olson

the night ended pretty rough with henry running down the street after michael and noah

who left for mutual

but it was a good day celebrating jude otherwise

he is the sweetest little caboose to our family

we love his bright spirit and sweet personality
