we felt like having an adventure on saturday
so after my friend courtney came to visit, we loaded up the car and drove to mccall
the day before we had decided to put the TV away for the rest of summer
so the drive was our first time without a movie on in a while
the kids did so great!
we stopped for lunch first thing at my father's place
we had to wait a long time for our food but the food was so good!
this mountain berry shake was super good, too
then we went in to ponderosa park to swim for the afternoon
henry walked with hazel, so sweet
i love watching our kids play in sand on a beach so much
it's seriously my favorite
henry probably ate a bit of sand but he had so much fun!
noah found lots of pretty rocks and olive loved swimming in the cold water
playing in the sand
this scene makes me so happy
olive and a sailboat
i love how happy the kids are playing in water and on the sand
this log was kind of a nice barrier for henry
he didn't like how cold the water was
i love eleanor's hand, it's very her
the girls love being burried by their dad
henry loved that hazel was burried and threw sand on her and sat on her
rachael loves michael
mermaid eleanor
noah found this sweet stick and posed for me, sucking in his stomach of course
the sun got blocked so the kids got a little cold
henry warmed up with a towel and cheese stick
on our way out we drove up the scenic loop
it was so pretty
we tried to take a family picture
semi-successfully...
we were going to stop at ice cream alley
for ice cream before we headed out but the line was so long and the kids were so tired
so we stopped in horseshoe bend
we were pleasantly surprised that they had great ice cream
i love eleanor's serious face in this first picture
man, i love these kids
it was such an amazing day
well worth the drive
it will be a treasured memory of mine for a long time
i'm excited to do a few more fun little trips before summer is over, too
