Shoshone falls and dinner in Rexburg

we decided last week to plan a last minute trip to yellowstone
i was so busy with girls camp that we hadn't really planned anything for this summer
so we figured we should make it happen before it's too late
the kids start school three weeks from today!
michael took a half day on friday and we loaded the kids up
we stopped in twin falls for icees
then we stopped at shoshone falls
it wasn't very out of the way
but it was so pretty and definitely worth the stop

the water is really low right now
so we want to come back in the spring and see it in its full glory

we booked a hotel for two nights in idaho falls
but decided to drive through to rexburg to show the kids the byu-i campus and find dinner
we loved passing the temple
and then we found an awesome farmer's market/food truck round up and ate a delicious dinner
michael got some authentic Brazilian food and treats
eleanor ate the world's biggest corn dog
it was delicious
taking a break/waiting for more food to cook

and we all shared some ice cream, too

it was the perfect spot for dinner
everyone loved it and i'm so glad we stumbled across it
we drove back to idaho falls and checked into the hotel
and took the kids to the hotel pool
hotel pools make all the driving worth it for them

 we make quite a splash

it was such a good first day of our trip
