Eleanor's room

aka the master bedroom walk-in closet

our new home only has 3 bedrooms
so noah has his own room, hazel and olive share
and eleanor lives in our walk-in closet!
she isn't our first baby to do so, either
she doesn't seem to mind and i love having her close by

recently

i know what you're thinking,
now that i'm 27 i think i'm way too cool to blog
but you're wrong
the reason i haven't been blogging is because
we got smart phones so i've been
using instagram (myolsonfamily) instead
but i am not too cool to blog
so i will still be here

 cousins
 waiting for noah's bus
at the park
ready for church

olive's prettiest mess

darling feet

driving home from ikea

waiting in the car for michael to get us ice cream

noah put michael's gloves on his feet to be a chicken

we all love trips to ikea on tuesdays
free kids meals
1.5 hours of smaland time for noah and hazel

potty training olive

i decided on a whim to potty train olive this week
she is 25 months old which is a lot younger than her siblings when they potty trained
but she has shown signs of readiness for a couple months
and now we've moved and school started, it seems to be the right time
plus she has two really good examples of what to do
i read this how-to and it gave me confidence to try
she is amazing us!
we are on day four
and it seems to have clicked day two
she is mad that we make her sleep at night in a diaper
and she's been dry the last two mornings!
she has had minimal accidents
she is loving the optional clothing
and we are so excited for how well she's doing
she also really enjoys this book
just like hazel did while potty training
it's fun having a lot of kids because they really support each other
noah and hazel have given olive lots of praise
and are so excited for her potty training

laundry room

a laundry room may seem insignificant but when you haven't had one
it can be maybe-sort of-semi-life changing
i love having a room to hold my fabric, hair supplies,
sewing supplies and clean laundry i don't want to fold
it's amazing

last day of summer

monday was the last day of summer for noah
so we figured we should do something fun
we found a splash pad and let the kids get soaked
noah and olive could not get enough
but hazel didn't last as long
she was happier once she got dry clothes on
 super wet
next we got ice cream and rode a carousel
it was a fun outing to commemorate the last day of summer
we also went to the open house at noah's school
and met his teacher
who is super nice
so we're excited for the school year

first grade

i can't believe noah is a first grader
he is so big!
he prays that he will know what his teacher wants him to do
and he is so sweet
i am so proud of the boy he is becoming

will drive for chipotle

today we had two goals
to find noah some new tennis shoes for school
and to get chipotle

 first stop---chipotle
because it's delicious
such a content baby, we love her!
michael and i were each showing olive the best way to drink out of a straw
my way is normal
michael's is using the side of his mouth
olive would copy each of us, it was funny
we all love chipotle, and we can't say that about many places
because hazel is picky
but she loves black beans
so she eats those and chips and she's happy
when we were deciding if it was worth us driving the 30ish miles to chipotle
we decided in pullman we'd drive more than that to lewiston
on any given weekend so we figured, why not?
here are our little matching mannequins

we went shopping after lunch
and found noah some good tennies
so all in all a success!

utah county fair

we went to the fair yesterday
and enjoyed things like painting, crafts for kids,
the small animals (our kids are afraid of big ones),
rides and a little fair food

i am disappointed to realize that the older i get,
the less i like heights
i used to love to be up high when i was little, like hazel
we were on the fastest ferris wheel and she loved it
i was a little freaked out, myself
olive handled the one ride she went on
better than her siblings at her same age
but she doesn't love rides yet
eleanor tolerated the heat of the day
it was fun to go
noah starts school in a few days
crazy!

campaign chest makeover

a few months ago i saw this cute little campaign chest
on craigslist for $15 so we got it and i used it
in my craft closet to hold all my craft supplies
but i knew it had so much potential
so i decided to give it a little face lift and put it somewhere more prominent
so after a little spray paint
we put it in our new living room
and it holds....diapers! yay!!
so much better, right?
i am hoping to soon add some curtains behind
and show you the rest of the room
one step at a time, i suppose
