what we're up to

we're having lots of fun shopping, eating, playing,

resting (from running), riding motorcycles, 

and getting ready for the first family reunion

my family has had in 5 years

so exciting!

half marathon

today i ran 13.1 miles

the seattle rock and roll (1/2) marathon

i thought i would enjoy it a lot more than i did

i'll write more later,

i'm a little tired today

we heart summer

 and friends.

and food.

three sleepies

all three kids came to our bed when they woke up this morning

such darling little ones

it's officially summer

so we did the most appropriate thing to celebrate

we went to the water park!

 i love this happy look on noah's face

he'd just gone down the frog slide

 michael did a flip off the diving board 

per noah's request

 i love my new sun hat

olive was ok sitting in the water

but all she really wanted to do was 

climb all over the beach chairs

i'm so glad summer is here!!

right place, right time

such a fun evening 

first we took noah to pee wee sports camp

watched him play soccer

 then we were reminded of an art walk in moscow

(thanks marilou!)

so we headed there for free food, art and entertainment

 you'll never guess who climbed in this thing next

and shut the door until i found him..

that michael gets me every time

 then we peaked into the fire station because the door was open

and an off duty firefighter happened to be there 

just popping in

and gave us a private tour

letting the kids climb in and out of everything

so, so nice

 the fire station was built in the 1920's 

and even has a fire pole

how sweet is that?  

like i said, 

right place, right time

this girls swimsuit was on gilt yesterday

and luckily it was sold out before i knew it

or i would have been seriously tempted 

to spend $55 on a swimsuit for hazel

it's possibly the cutest thing i have ever seen

4 years

yesterday was our anniversary

i feel like things just keep getting better

i love this guy

 thanks to our friends the lively's 

we got to go out to a nice dinner without the kids

and just enjoy each other

 and remember the day we got married 

i'm so glad we did 

michael is seriously the best husband

i couldn't have married anyone better

sewing: a romper for hazel

an eventful saturday

first i ran 10 miles

holla

then we decided to take a little trip to spokane

we just wanted to have some fun

play at the park, feed the ducks, go to lunch, etc

we didn't know it would be such an eventful day 

people were running around doing an amazing race

of sorts

and there was an equality parade

 lots of rainbows!

we wanted to take the kids on some rides

but they kept freaking out 

until we found this little number

the slow mini train they can handle

 then they loosened up a bit and had fun

i'm sporting a new skirt i made

 o is for olive

 and onion tower

 we had a delicious lunch at red robin

that only cost us $8 (plus tip)

between a royalty card free meal

and an crazy waitress that ordered us

 a whole onion tower

instead of the single order we wanted

we didn't complain too much

 we forgot hazel's shoes in the car 

and didn't want to get them (we're lazy)

so we just called her blackfoot

until we'd had enough

then we bought her some sweet clearance boots

she liked them but said they made her feet hot 

i thought they paired well with her (over the top) pretty skirt

 michael (beardy) was going to shave yesterday morning

but never did

and left the beard/neck trimmers out

 in the kids' bathroom

so while noah was brushing his teeth

he decided to "brush his hair" with the trimmers

on the side of his head...

 this is what we ended up with

silly boy

i didn't mind that he did it

it just means he gets an extra short summer haircut

but i made sure to talk to him about NEVER doing it to his sisters' hair

all in all

it was a fabulous day

nothing better

than sitting on the back porch 

eating ice cream with some friends

an afternoon at the park

friday it was finally sunny and michael was working late

i consider 5:00pm on a friday to be late

so i took the kids to the park

to feed the ducks

hazel is afraid of the ducks

this duck was wearing a funny little turban

which are very stylish these days

olive loves the swings

and i love her rolls

win win

and my feet

luckily the weather has been nice all weekend

so we could spend lots of time outside

i hope it sticks around!
