i just love these kids

Noah and Hazel are wonderful. Hazel is now over her sinus infection and mostly back to her happy self. Noah is talking more and more every day. They are so fun. I love that as Hazel is getting older they can play together.
Life as their mum is pretty great.

sewing lessons

I think I need some. Sewing lessons that is. I thought I'd be brave and use some of the clothes the kids have outgrown to play around with my machine today. It went ok but not great. I have the wrong "foot" on my machine and don't seem to own the right one. Mine would work great if I were quilting. But since I don't know how to quilt it doesn't do me much good to have the wrong foot on my machine. I made a couple of little pillows for the kids to take in the car and a couple of balls for Hazel to play with. I even converted one of my ill-fitting shirts into a dress for Hazel. It's a little too small so we'll have to save it for the next lucky girl who joins our family. The worst thing about sewing today was letting the needle run through my thumb. It hurt a bit. I enjoy handmade things but maybe it's better if they're not made by these hands.

it's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas is over

It was wonderful
We stayed inside all day and watched movies and played.
It was so relaxing, I loved it.
Look how happy this guy is. Noah couldn't take his eye's off of his new Buzz Lightyear toy. He's quite the Toy Story fan. We really enjoy how much he loves it and how little it matters that we got it at Goodwill for $2.00. We had such a lovely Christmas dinner. Michael cooked and even cleaned up! Merry Christmas to me!!

my yesterday

So yesterday I woke up and realized Michael did indeed, despite the snow, leave for work. That was cool but I was curious which car he took. Mostly because if he took his (my old car) then I could go out and about if neccessary but if he took mine then I couldn't go anywhere. Not even to take Hazel to the doctor. By the way, she has a sinus infection. This is a picture of his car.He tried to take it to work and instead he got it stuck half way on the sidewalk and half way on the street.
The whole thing was quite funny.
The dark patch on the right is where the car was parked before he left for work.
The very best part (in fact, my very favorite part) was that he just left it there and didn't mention a thing to me or anyone else for that matter until I called him and was like...
"WHAT IN THE WORLD?!!"
Also yesterday I discovered Noah and Hazel are
big enough to share a COSTCO cart.
Too cute!
I loved their little feet together.
Lastly, I got to enjoy a wonderful dinner with my dearest friend, Kendra.
So yesterday was great and
tomorrow is Christmas
What could be better?

win-lose

Hazel is sick. She's had a cold-cough-runny nose for a few weeks. Today she just feels awful and feverish on top of it. She's just lounging, crying, and sucking her thumb today. The snow blessed me with my husband home all day but sadly the Doctor's office is closed because of it. Thus a win-lose situation. Poor girl! Don't worry I didn't take this picture today while she's sick and sad. I took it a few weeks ago when she was just plain mad.

due to popular demand

The demand was mostly from my sister.
It's kind of fun!

Going, going, gone!

What could be more fun than sledding down a hill in a laundry hamper with your Dad?

let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

Michael forced me outside for this picture last night at 11:45.
It was so cold! He looks quite pleased with himself, I dare say. An artsy fartsy picture of Noah and his trike. Noah stole Michael's hat. Good thing he looks so darn cute in it! Here he's caught peaking through the fence to the neighbor's yard. It was all fun and games in the snow until Noah's hands hurt from the cold. It was time for breakfast anyway.

my little muffins

Our little Curious George. Hazel loves to sit up but she's still a little wobbly (especially when Noah says, "baby fall down" and pushes her over) so I created a little seat for her to play with toys. I just put her quilt (made by my mom) in a laundry basket with her toys. Voila!

Winterfest

Noah's showing Santa a bird. Mrs. Clause almost wouldn't give Hazel back. Me and Noah about to go around and around.
Yesterday was Kent Winterfest. It was super fun. Better than last year. They had a free merry-go-round that we went on a couple times. Michael rode with Hazel while I stood with Noah. Turns out that'll make ya pretty dizzy. The next time we went on I rode too. It was pretty fun. Anyway, we looked around for a while, ate at Chipotle, and then got the kids dressed for a picture with Santa because they have it all set up there for professional pictures. To our disappointment Santa was "feeding his reindeer" and wouldn't be back for a couple hours so we settled for the free Santa inside the tent with the merry-go-round. Pretty cute!!

Christmas wreaths

My Mom gave me the supplies to paint and assemble these Christmas wreaths. I love them especially because I remember helping her make the same thing when I was little. I made one for myself and one for my sister. They're slightly different but both turned out pretty well. Michael is quite artistic and a peferfectionist so it always pays to have him help. Thanks darling!

OKWEJFOJFOIJIEWFOKJEFOIJ

Today is HORRIBLE. Not all gumdrops and cupcakes here. I'm used to a lot more time alone and space to myself. I'm not loving the whole being a mom thing tonight, either. I put Noah to bed 2 hours ago and he has got out of bed at least 15 times and Hazel keeps waking up..I wonder why!?! Michael's at school.
MICHAEL COME HOME!!!

noah's view of the world

Noah is our budding photographer. It's not really my ideal career choice for him but I don't mind if he dabbles in it while he's young. He loves taking pictures and when he remembers to keep his fingers out of the way, they turn out pretty well.
This is a picture of Kyle's computer desk (prior the deep cleaning we gave it last night).
Part of my leg as well as my bag while in the doctors office yesterday for Hazel's appointment.
His cute little hand. And lastly, a picture of me. He's not half bad, huh?
