Thanksgiving

Hazel and her Great Grandma Jordan The CUTEST little girl, our niece Katie Noah with his cousins David and Anna Noah riding in a lego wagon
Hazel sucking her thumb through her binky
Well I didn't expect our internet to be connected when we got home, especially since I told Comcast to disconnect it Wednesday. We had a fun trip to Sequim for Thanksgiving with Michael's family. Noah loved playing with his cousins. Hazel enjoys all the attention she gets for being so darling. I even snuck away with Hazel to go see my parents for a little while. I'm really glad I did. On our way home today we stopped to visit with my Grandma. It was a really nice visit. All in all, I'm/we're exausted. Not only from our quick little trip to the peninsula but also, I gave 6 haircuts within the last day, and kids don't sleep so well while traveling not to mention we're in the middle of moving. Well that's life, right?

can you believe

Can you believe our baby Hazel is SIX MONTHS OLD today?! It seems like she was just a newborn! I can't believe it. Soon she'll be crawling and eating solids. Crazy!

i like to move it move it

Well moving kind of sucks. It seems it's the same amount of work whether you move 2.5 miles or 200 miles away. I do enjoy the cleansing process. I'm definitely a fan of getting rid of things I don't need. It kills me to have something around that's not neccessary be it hair products, spatulas, books, shoes...no matter. Noah's enjoying the boxes. Today all the living room furniture will disappear. We will have occasional visits with it at my sisters house where it will reside. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. One thing I'm grateful for is Kyle letting his baby brother, his babies, and his wife who is kind of a baby move in with him for a while.
It'll be an adventure.

oh sure

Like you don't spend your afternoon like this...dressing your daughter in legwarmers and oversized flowers....taking pictures...and blogging about it. So darling.

twilight recap

so.....I LOVED IT! Of course it coudn't compare to the book BUT....how could you fit that much into two hours anyway? Twilight makes you a little obsessed so maybe I'm just an addict happy to get a fix. A few other things I loved about tonight: Michael and I had our first real date in like.....forever. Also, he's hilarious. First stop was 7-11 for some slurfs (slurpees for those of you other than Andre`a) then we went to the theater to retrieve our tickets and then to Dukes for dinner. While we waited for our food to come (which took too long so we ate it during the previews) Michael was making a ton of vampire jokes. He's so cute. And soooo funny. The movie was SO full 20 minutes before it started. Michael asked almost an entire row to scoot over 1 seat so we could have seats together that weren't in the front row. After the movie we stopped at JintheB for oreo milkshakes and he was pretending he was Edward. And right this second he's making our bed. He's my Edward.

cutest thing

Hazel not only is a binky baby, she's a thumb sucker and occasionally a tongue sucker.

Back to normal

Miss Hazel in the new ergo. So far I love it. Noah was LOVING this little tractor today.

Here he is in a police car that caught his eye. Will he grow up to be a farmer or a cop? So hard to tell. As many of you know, when Hazel was born Noah had an AWFULLY hard adjustment. To put it mildly life was miserable for all. I'm so glad to have my Noah back!!!

This is Michael checking to make sure I'm not lying. He thought he grabbed granola bread at WINCO while shopping tonight. I looked at it and noticed it was grainola bread. He was completely disappointed because he chose the bread based on it being granola and not multi grain. He avoids healthy food. Here are Jennie, Sophie, Hazel, and I at a wedding reception this weekend. Such pretty girls. Ahh, a moment of peace while both kids were napping a few days ago.

ONE MORE WEEEEEEEEEEEEK!

TWILIGHT COMES OUT IN ONE WEEK! I'm totally excited. The movie might suck and that's ok. I need to see it either way just for curiousity's sake and my hubby deserves a date with me. We haven't been out alone for a loooooooong time. I think it'll be fun. Maybe dinner and a movie. Dessert too? Woo hoooooo!

Like you've never
talked on your cell phone,
tweezed your eyebrows
or taken your picture while driving?

funny story

Last night I went to an Activities Committee Meeting scheduled for 7:00pm at an older couple's home in our ward. When I got there, 2 men in our ward were waiting at the door. One of them was there for our meeting with the wife of the older couple and the other was there to pick up the husband to go out on some church business. It looked like they had been waiting a while and like no one was home. This same lady forgot the last time we had a meeting too and wasn't home but we had our meeting in her home anyway. She mentioned as I was scheduling this meeting that there is a hide-a-key and where to find it if she happens to forget about this meeting like she did the last. I told the 2 men who were waiting in the rain about it and one of them called the lady and got details on where exactly to find the key so we could all get inside. She was on her way home but she didn't know where her husband was. Well we broke in and her husband just hadn't heard the door but he was getting his coat on and ready to leave with the guy who was there to pick him up. They left very quickly so they wouldn't be late for wherever they were going. That left me and one other guy in someone's house with out them home. He waited outside of course. I called Michael to tell him how weird this all was and he's like let me get this straight, it kept getting better and better to him as I explained the conversation, "You broke in to their house for your meeting, most of the committee......in fact all of the committee didn't show up, and they're not home?" It was pretty bizarre. We decided to reschedule the meeting just as the lady pulled in to her drive way. My evening went well though. I stopped and visited with a friend and made it home just in time to catch the second half of The Biggest Loser and eat hot-out-of-the-oven chocolate chip cookies while we watched. Oh life.

oh michael

Of course there are the obvious reasons why I married you. You are so kind and patient. You encourage me in every way. You treat me like a princess. You are a wonderful father.
But how could I have known.........
that we would make a tradition of eating little caesars pizza and drinking coke slurpees weekly,
that you would think to dress Noah in a shirt you could match or that you enjoy matching so much. You even try to match your tie to whatever I'm wearing to church each Sunday. Why do you think I change so many times?
Or that you would give Hazel your finger and suck on the binky yourself. Openly. At Target.
I love all of the fun discoveries.

Goodbye dear friend

I bought this pretty coach diaper bag a month and a half ago. It was of course way too expensive but Michael and I had this jar (actually a cup I made in pottery) we were saving money in for a rainy day. It became the new TV fund. Our elaborate plan was to purchase a rockin' new TV the day after thanksgiving in Sequim (where they get way too much stuff and not that many shoppers). Then I decided I could really use a new cute diaper bag. I am the mother of 2 after all. This bag was the only one at the coach store that could fit all of my essentials. Who knew a nursing cover, sling, bulky cloth diapers, and wipes would take up so much room? Not to mention milk dripping sippies. Turns out that owning a fancy coach bag is cool and all but not so practical for motherhood. Kids are messy. Anyway, we spent the rest of the jar money on our car and I felt like a jerk that I got my bag and Michael didn't get his TV so alas Goodbye Dear friend. I sold this bag to a lady off of craigslist who needs this bag to carry her dog in. I hope this beautiful bag will enjoy the chihuahua.

Garage

Well it's about time we start cleaning out our garage. I feel like an old married couple with all the junk we've accumulated in the 2 years of living here. No thanks to Andre'a or Ben : ) I got out the backpack so I could wear Hazel but Noah needed a ride first....He's so big! A picture of our new car. I know you've been dying to see it. We absolutely love it! It feels so luxurious compared to our other junkers. The said garage. It's insane. Value Village got one load last night and now we need find a new home for a bunch more stuff. Gine, I found your old friend last night. I don't want to alarm you but it looks as though he's trying to end his life. Maybe I helped...I'm not sure. I think you should hurry back and save him. P.S. Noah LOOOOVES him!

Seattle

This last week we went to Seattle with Michael's relatives. While on a break from walking around I was breasfeeding Hazel in the car and we stopped to take a picture of her sucking her thumb. She found her thumb a week or two ago and loves it! Sure there are reasons it's bad but I think it is the cutest thing. We rode the monorail over to the Center House. Noah really enjoyed the "train ride". When we got him out of the stroller to play with the toy cars and cones we noticed he was completely soaked. He had on a disposable rather than bumgenius and it leaked like crazy. So Noah got to play pants-less while Michael tried to dry his pants. Sorry for the blurry pictures... Pantsless Joe likes to move and was totally loving the newfound freedom. He's not afraid to show his skinny legs and that is something we can all learn from.

Trick or Treat

For some reason I made the effort for Noah and Hazel to have outfits other than their costumes for Halloween during the day. It makes sense and everything except we didn't go out of the house all day until it was time to go to the church to set up for the trunk or treat and that's when I put their costumes on so....I guess this is where I get to show them off. Tada! This is the ONLY picture where both of them have their eyes open and Noah's not trying to sit on Hazel. I'm beginning to think they have a deal where every other picture one of them is supposed to look like/pretend they're sleeping. It's insane! It was so fun to dress Hazel in her tutu. The only trouble was that it was in her mouth a lot and in her way so she didn't like it that much but I really enjoyed it. Noah LOVES Toy Story2 and he calls the movie Buzz so luckily we found this outfit for him brand new at Goodwill for $4. And thanks to his E-E (Andre`a) he had the perfect space ranger shoes. He LOVED being dressed up. He couldn't get enough of himself in the mirror.
Here's a pic of our little family. Michael made himself a Wiimote (a wii remote) costume at work and wore it on Halloween off and on but he got really hot and couldn't move very well so he's not wearing it in the picture. Noah enjoyed trunk or treating and luckily the whole activity went well. Thanks to everyone who helped clean up we were home by 8:30. My sister and I even had time to put the kids to bed and go trick-or-treating a little just the 2 of us. It was so fun!

best week ever

I finally got to meet my nephew Clark. He is so sweet. He and Hazel are 4 weeks apart but he is totally bigger than she is. He is just a solid kid and I thought Hazel was chunky. They were so cute together. Just before this picture was taken they were even holding hands!
Well aren't these just the prettiest ballerinas I've ever seen! This was taken at the ward Trunk or Treat (Whew, glad that's over--I don't like the pressure of putting activities on. It's hard to enjoy them). It was so fun to have both of my sisters there and my parents. I decided a while ago that Hazel should be a ballerina for Halloween and once I realized how easy it is to make tutus I figured we all should be. It was so fun!
First stop after I picked Andre`a up at the airport----Azteca! The upper picture is of Hazel and Clark in their carseats. Hazel is sucking her thumb, a recent discovery/habit. Below is me and my sisters. I like this picture, I think it was time for a new good one of the three of us.
My sister Andre`a was here from Boston this week. It was such a fun week, I'm sad it is over. It was SO fun to be with her. I finally got to meet my nephew Clark and my sisters and I went out to eat, to a movie (WITHOUT KIDS--we saw House Bunny...not really one you'd want to see with your husband but it was super fun for us girls) and had so much fun. Can't wait until January when she comes back. It's pretty great to have sisters who are also your best friends. I love you girls!
